What is the definition of hypocrisy? Is America being poisoned with the Biblically incorrect cancer of double talking politically correct politicians? Gary Glenn is the President of the American Family Association of Michigan. Personally speaking, as an individual citizen aside from the AFA Mr. Glenn has put together an eye-opening information piece relative to Gov. Romneys faith in America speech.
.
Gary Glenn, for purposes of identification only, president of the American Family Association of Michigan, offers the following comments prior to Gov. Romney's "Faith in America" speech...CONTACT: Gary Glenn 989-430-0652 (cell)
Americans concerned about protecting life and traditional family values can only hope that Romney's faith will inform him differently than it did during his earlier political and business activities.
Actions speak louder than words, and Romney's past political and business activities are a far more trustworthy measure than any campaign speech of whether the faith he professes is likely to have much if any influence on his future behavior.
Romney's record of passionately and convincingly advocating for abortion on demand and homosexual activists' political agenda, while personally profiting from the sale of hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of pornography, makes clear that his faith had little discernible influence on his past political and business activities.
Mitt Romney's credibility problem is not that he's Mormon. It's that politically, on core values such as protecting life and traditional family values, he hasn't been Mormon enough.
That's the basis on which most Americans are likely to judge him negatively, not on how his religious beliefs compare to other faiths, but that his politics haven't been true to the cultural values widely associated with his own faith.

> HAS MITT ROMNEY BEEN A DOUBLE-TALKER ON HOMOSEXUAL ISSUES, ABORTION AND PORNOGRAPHY?
Yep.
Willard used religion to distract from his
nanny state, populist, socialist past.
I call it fraud!
I’m goin’ with yes on this one.
In before the Mittbotts, with their smooth ability to take their erasers and make all of this go away. ;-p
Any candidate can be cherry picked on what he believes in, what he did etc. etc. The bottom line to me is, which candidate(s) can defeat the evil Democrats. And the answer always comes back, Mitt, Rudy or Fred. The candidate who definitely CAN’T beat the Democrats is the Huckster, and for some strange reason, he seems to be surging.
Because the fact is, anyone who the Democrats put up will be far worse for this country then any of our candidates.
It appears that the man’s moral compass points to the latest opion polls.
Thank you for posting this. Great info!
I think Mitt Boy’s credibility problem is that he’s not a conservative, PERIOD!
Has a bear relieved himself in the woods?
I can’t believe the Republicans will nominate Romney, or Giulani, or Huckabee (or Paul). Who does that leave? Thompson.
Could it end up at the convention? Maybe.
Glenn Beck is scheduled to interview Mitt Romney this evening. Since Beck is a convert to Mormonism, that may be a set-up for softball questions.
"while personally profiting from the sale of hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of pornography",
Does anyone have a sorce for this?
It has to do with Marriot. Pretty silly.
*Marriott
Could you fill me in on it?
Romney was once on the Board of Directors for Marriott. Marriott offers adult films (pay-per-view) at their locations.
Fred, and even more unfortunately, Duncan Hunter, can't seem to energize Republicans. If you can't energize your own party, how are you going to energize an electorate?
Folksy is not going to get you anywhere in presidential politics. This is the Big Leagues, down in the mud, slug it out politics and no-one fights dirtier than a Doomacrat. And Fred isn't inclined to do that, and I say that with great disappointment.
Romney showed that he is Presidential in speaking with conviction and passion.
Sadly, for the "all or nothing gang", you better have been a conservative from the womb to now because there is no room for a change in philosophy.
But the question is, how many of us have not changed in our beliefs? Whether it is recognizing the omnipotence of the Almighty, recognizing the sanctity of life, or recognizing that Government isn't the solution.
I really know nothing about Mormon beliefs, but I’m curious since I thought that Mormons were socially conservative and Romney certainly could not be considered to be so prior to fairly recently. Does anyone know what the LDS Church has to say about abortion, homosexuality, etc.?
“Romney was once on the Board of Directors for Marriott. Marriott offers adult films (pay-per-view) at their locations.”
Oh geez. What next? He’s owned a Ford car and therefore is gay?
I mean no disrespect, but I wonder - given that you're opposing Romney in your reply and Rudy in your tagline, which candidate do you actually support?
I agreee with another poster, below: There just isn't a cradle-to-grave conservative in the field. Are we to accept a Hillary presidency, then?
I didn't plan on voting for him anyway.
> Any candidate can be cherry picked on what he believes in, what he did etc. etc.
I don’t have a problem fully vetting our candidates before the GOP primary. Do you?
> The bottom line to me is, which candidate(s) can defeat the evil Democrats. And the answer always comes back, Mitt, Rudy or Fred.
Both Mitt and Rudy (especially Rudy) have issues in leaning lib. Chances are good that I will pull the lever for the (R) candidate. But I’d like to do so without wearing a full-body-and-soul condom, so I will fight like hell for a good one in the primaries.
There are consequences for “settling” for a lib-leaning candidate. As good as he has been on the WOT, W has been a real disappointment on spending (GOP-authored pork faced zero veto threat from him) and on border security (Dubai ports deal? Immigration “reform”?)
Nothing will keep me from making sure we go into this election with our eyes wide open... you want we should smile meekly and go with whatever the RNC bosses would like? This is OUR party, too.
IIRC, Gary Glenn is a freeper?
Does anyone know his name here?
Here are Romney’s beliefs in a letter that he wrote to a gay power activist group, see the link for the entire letter.
http://www.massresistance.org/docs/marriage/romney/record/RomneyLogCabinLetter.pdf
I am writing to thank the Log Cabin Club of Massachusetts for the advice and support you have given to me during my campaign for the US Senate and to seek the Clubs formal endorsement of my election. Your endorsement is important to me because it will provide further confirmation that my campaign and approach to government is consistent with the values and vision of government we share.
As a result of our discussions and other interactions with gay and lesbian voters across the state, I am more convinced than ever before that as we seek to establish full equality for Americas gay and lesbian citizens, I will provide more effective leadership than my opponent.
I am not unaware of my opponents [sic] considerable record in the area of civil rights For some voters it might be enough for me to simply match my opponents record in this area. But I believe we can and must do better. If we are to achieve the goals we share, we must make equality for gays and lesbians a mainstream concern. My opponent cannot do this. I can and will.
We have discussed a number of important issues such as the Federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which I have agreed to co-sponsor, and if possible broaden to include housing and credit, and a bill to create a federal panel to find ways to reduce gay and lesbian youth suicide, which I also support. One issue I want to clarify concerns [grammar in context] President Clintons dont ask, dont tell, dont pursue military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nations military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share
We're in the primary phase right now and four of the top five GOP candidates don't pass conservative muster.
Fred Thompson has the conservative credentials to get the job done. A genuine conservative with a consistent life time record of commitment to the Constitution and a supporter of the Founders idea of original intent.
Marriott is a Mormon owned business, and Mitt is named after him. “His name “Willard” was after hotel magnate J. Willard Marriott, his father’s best friend.”
“When he left in 2002, J.W. Marriott, Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of Marriott International, called him, “an active, hands-on Director From his first days on our Board nine years ago, Mitt has been an extraordinarily effective director and visionary leader.”
Mitt Romney has a very close relationship with the Marriott family.
Romney’s father, George Romney was best friends with Marriott’s original founder J. Willard Marriott. Mitt Romney’s first name is Willard, in honor of the Marriott founder. The Marriott family gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to Mitt Romney’s campaign when he ran for the U.S. Senate in 1994.
So far during Romney’s presidential run, they have given close to $80,000.
When asked about Romney’s time on the board of directors, Marriott Spokesman Roger Conner told CBN, “We don’t comment on board level matters.”
I have no idea if Gary Glenn is a freeper—I don’t think I had ever heard of him before this post.
LOL
Like anyone would believe him!
“Does anyone have a sorce for this?”
It’s not a direct relationship, like he ran one of those stores with the painted out windows down by the airport.
He was on the board (or something like that) of Marriott, who offered TV porn channels in their hotel rooms. Someone chased the money down through annual report filings, and the “special programming” added up to quite a bit over the years.
Gary has been a conservative family-values advocate for quite a while. I know that he was head of the Michigan part of the American Family Association in the early-mid 90s. He is based out the Saginaw-Bay City area. I attended a speech he gave at an AFA meeting in the Richmond, VA area at least 10 years ago. He is a real good guy.

With respect, I must say that I don’t agree with some of your approach regarding Romney. I should also say that I am not a ‘strong’ Romney supporter and I am not a Mormon, but I liked his speech very much. I didn’t see the wisdom within the speech itself as having much to do with the Mormon religion, rather, I saw those words as an example of the truths and beliefs of many our Founding Fathers, and as a raise of the bar for ‘wishful leaders’ to follow. If We as a People, no longer have those foundational beliefs, then We shall fail as a society and deservingly so.
I lean towards Fred and Hunter, as they seem to be more conservative than any of the others, but they have not demonstrated any fire in their belly’s in this competition thus far, and if they don’t get off of the dime, neither will get the nod, certainly to our regret.
Now, I don’t write this to enter into this debate, it’s already too time consuming, convoluted and crowed. My time is full in simply trying to read everything that so many of you folks write and frankly, it’s starting to pi$$ my dog off. ;>)
I write for one primary reason. I wish to compliment you on that piece you have in your profile. I liked it very much!! So much so, that I intend to read it to my young grandsons, whom have already shown their propensity to be sheepdogs, just like their gramps has been in his 59 years of life.
Thank you for posting the Sheep story in your profile, I will pass it on.
Have a good day....now back to the bloody sward fight. ;>)
“...time consuming, convoluted and crowed. “
Should have read, ‘crowded’.
It must have been the dogs fault.
No, the question is whether Mitt has changed in his beliefs.
I will concede that the Marriott/pornography link is a stretch. Business is business.
“With respect, I must say that I dont agree with some of your approach regarding Romney.”
I’m one of those that went from being glad that we had Romney, to finding out that I was all wrong about the man.
It makes me want to share all of the shocking truth about who the man I discovered is, once I started looking beyond the last one to two years.
Double-talker? YES!
FRED THOMPSON (true Conservative Federalist) - NATIONAL SECURITY EXPERIENCE (I’ll do whatever it takes to stop the bastards) - 2ND AMENDMENT ADVOCATE (arm everyone and the criminals will back off) - SECURE THE BORDERS (starve the bastards and they will go home) - LAW AND ORDER (enforcement first and foremost) - SOCIAL SECURITY REFORM (the program can’t sustain itself) - DEFEAT THE DEMOCRAT (any fool they put up) TAX SIMPLIFICATION (choice for the tax payer) - PING!
It seems you have the goods on Mitt with that letter. I wonder how much he did to follow through.
The Romney spin cycle runs faster that sinkEmperor’s did, and it’s much wider, too! His most recent ‘pro-life conversion/pro-alie-embryos for exploitation research’ stance is an excellent example his sycophancy will likely now quickly spin to dry.
“It seems you have the goods on Mitt with that letter. I wonder how much he did to follow through.”
This is the letter that Cooper Anderson kept pressing Romney on in the last debate, Romney was repeatedly asked if he refuted this letter stating that his goal was to fully integrate homosexuals into the military.
This is one of the few times that Romney has not changed his position, his goal stays as he states in the letter,
“I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nations military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share
Thanks.

Multiple sources on the pornography story, including most remarkably, the first one:
Editorial, The Deseret News, Salt Lake City, July 10, 2007 (the daily newspaper owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Mormons)
“Pornography taints everything it touches. Mitt Romney should have understood that. So should the Marriott Corporation and other hotel owners who offer hard-core movies in hotel rooms. Romney caught a bit of flack last week because he spent nearly 10 years on the Marriott board and yet never tried to reverse the company’s policy of providing pornography on demand... For a presidential candidate who has railed against pornography, this is not entirely insignificant. Even if the subject never came up at a board meeting, one can argue that at least part of the $25,000 plus stock he was paid annually for his board membership came from the money some hotel guests paid for access to the films.”

Nonsense. Mitt and Rudy are Democrats. They just call themselves Republican. I see no advantage in electing liberals who pretend to be conservative.
