DEMS HOLD FIRE ON HUCKABEE; SEE ‘EASY KILL’ IN GENERAL ELECTION
Tue Dec 11 2007 10:27:53 ET
**Exclusive**
Democrat party officials are avoiding any and all criticism of Republican presidential contender Mike Huckabee, insiders reveal.
The Democratic National Committee has told staffers to hold all fire, until he secures the party’s nomination.
The directive has come down from the highest levels within the party, according to a top source.
Within the DNC, Huckabee is known as the “glass jaw — and they’re just waiting to break it.”
In the last three weeks since Huckabee’s surge kicked in, the DNC hasn’t released a single press release criticizing his rising candidacy.
The last DNC press release critical of Huckabee appeared back on March 2nd.
[DNC Press Release Attack Summary:
Governor Mitt Romney (R-MA) – 37% (99 press releases)
Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R-NY) – 28% (74)
Senator John McCain (R-AZ) – 24% (64)
Senator Fred Thompson (R-TN) – 8% (20)
Governor Mike Huckabee – 2% (4)]
In fact, as the story broke over the weekend that Huckabee said he wanted to isolate AIDS patients back in 1992, the DNC ignored the opportunity to slam the candidate from the left.
“He’ll easily be their McGovern, an easy kill,” mocked one senior Democrat operative Tuesday morning from Washington.
“His letting out murders because they shout ‘Jesus’, his wanting to put 300,000 AIDS patients and Magic Johnson into isolation, ain’t even scratching the surface of what we’ve got on him.”
The discipline the Democrats have shown in not engaging Huckabee has earned the praise of one former Republican Party official:
“The Democrats are doing a much better job restraining themselves than the GOP did in 2003 when Howard Dean looked like he was on the brink of winning the nomination.”
A close friend to Huckabee explains: “Look, Mike is Hillary Clinton’s worst nightmare. They should be squirming.”
Developing...
Note to Drudge: This ain’t news. And it ain’t just Huck they’re holding back on...
While the line may be accurate, remember they thought Bush had a glass jaw on the economy in 2004.
It wouldn’t surprise me if it were true.
If Huckabee is the “glass jaw” then what would Giuliani be considered?
Well duh, we all knew that.
Gee soooooo surprising...NOT
In any case, we need to pray to God for His help and guidance.
The feather boa.
Well, to the Democratcheks, a mirror.
Well, the RNC looks at Clinton as the easy target so I guess they’re even. I suspect that both sides may be wrong.
Maybe the Dems have Willie Horton waiting in the wings to endorse the Huckster.
“what would Giuliani be considered?”
an ally?
Guess we’re going to have to complete Hack-A-Huck ourselves then, while at the same time keeping Rudi out of the paint.
“Well, the RNC looks at Clinton as the easy target so I guess theyre even. I suspect that both sides may be wrong.”
The thing is the RNC will not ever play hardball against the DNC. The RNC had theirs over to the Clinton Testical Lockbox.
ABC (George Stuffolofgous show) wasn’t holding fire last Sunday. The main stream media spent the Sunday talk shows promoting liberal Rudy (nbc) while having complete distain (and complete ignorance of other points of view)(abc news last Sunday especially applauding) for the Huckster.
Well golly gee and surprise, surprise...

Agreed.
Yup. Poll 25% Republicans instead of 30% Republicans and 40% Democrats instead of 35% Democrats and suddenly it looks like a landslide in any stupid poll...........
Pollsters continually amaze me..
I am here in Iowa and many of the folks I know here are lining up behind Huck. Does anyone have a link to something I can use to warn these folks? The GOP cannot afford to nominate the Huckster. He reminds me of Professor Harold Hill.
ping
I think Mike Huckabee would be the worst possible candidate. He would be a disaster. Kucinich could win against Huckabee.
I’m sure all the Demonrats think all the Republicans have glass jaws of one form or another. They may not be as easy to identify as Huckabee’s.

"The Daily Kos is doing this all wrong. They should wait until he has the nomination."
"YES! He's the Republican we want to win the nomination."
I think Huckabee is exciting the wrong base. Republicans aren't thrilled about his tax & spending or immigration record, and even his social stances are too extreme for moderate social conservatives and libertarian-leaning Republicans.
Its the left who is getting excited, they can smell blood in the water. And hey, even if he does win, they know he'll raise taxes for kids' healthcare.

The MSM patiently wait to 'help' the GOP,
after the GOP is stuck with the MSM's choice of RINO-candidate.
I am here in Iowa and many of the folks I know here are lining up behind Huck. There's a Hucker born every minute ...
Just have them check out Fred's position on stuff, then Mike's.
oh yeah, and 25% of GOP women will vote for Hillary too! LOL
huckabee has been the left’s useful idiot to protect Giuliani.
The easy electoral kill on candidate giuliani (NYC vs NYC)
or
The easy electoral kill on candidate hucakbee (Ark. vs Ark.)
Either way the DBM has been VERY successful in killing off any true conservative candidates.
The dinosaur media is not dead yet.
If you think Bush got a raw deal from the press for his religious convictions and how they affected his decision making processes wait til they and the Dims start going after Huckleberry full steam...they’ll make him seem like Jerry Falwell/Jim Jones/jimmy Swaggert/Jim Bakker combined. He’s probably a good man but completely out of his element in a dirty business like national politics.
Hillary vs. Huckabee would be a clusterf*** of epic proportions.
That is why some are looking to Huckabee. Conservatives want someone who will not 'throw the base under the bus'--the way that Rudy will. However, Huck is not really someone who can be that consensus conservative--Fred could fill that role nicely.
Giuliani is hillary’s clone that allows her to run to the right of herself.

Enough, this is getting dangerous for us, having a debate on who is more divine, vice-free, who worships how, who believes what, who is more activist about abortions.
We are at WAR, and need a candidate who is ready to be CIC, understands the enemy, here and abroad. Can be ruthless and an SOB.
RG, DH, FT, or even McCain could fit that bill, imo.
“Fred could fill that role nicely.”
Precisely. Pretty shocking and disappointing how poorly he is doing. This would have been his moment. The next candidate to spike will be McCain IMO. Your heard it here first....or maybe second!
If voters want amnesty and open borders, they should vote for Rudy McRombee.
If they still want a sovereign nation to call their own, they've got two other choices.
For me it's that simple. If we don't have our sovereignty, all the rest isn't going to matter.

DNC staffer on Huckabee: “His letting out murderers because they shout ‘Jesus’, his wanting to put 300,000 AIDS patients and Magic Johnson into isolation, ain’t even scratching the surface of what we’ve got on him.”
You can tell who the Dems fear based upon where they place their attacks. I’d welcome everyone to follow the link, as Drudge has laid it out.
And just who is it they fear? No surprise, it’s Mitt Romney.
“[DNC Press Release Attack Summary:

All serious Republicans need to start lining up behind Romney if they truly want to see us secure the Presidency. He has the proven positions, the money, the look and the “gravitas” to win.
It’s funny how Giuliani often talks about being able to run a 50 state race, but Romney is actually going to be able to deliver some northern states like Michigan while still holding the south. Giuliani offers no real potential electoral vote gains, just total vote gains which don’t matter. None of the other candidates, while I like and respect them all, bring any other non-Bush states into play.
Complete Drudge article at #39. Could you edit the original post to add it?
The tone of the report casts more aspersions towards the Dems than anything...they’re nothing more than salivating dogs. Nice business, politics.
glass “short for richard”
Who told Drudge this, the DNC?
