LAS VEGAS - Six junior high or high school students were shot Tuesday after they got off a school bus, and two were critically hurt, police said.
Gunshots rang out in northeast Las Vegas just before 2 p.m., Officer Bill Cassell said.
Six young people were transported to area hospitals. Four had minor gunshot injuries and two were in critical condition, Cassell said.
At least two people are believed to have taken part in the shootings, he said. Police were not saying whether the shooting suspects were on foot or in a vehicle.
The shooting occurred less than a mile from two elementary schools, Woolley and Clyde Cox Elementary Schools. A Clark County School District official said the schools were not closed.

“Lots of anger and tightly wound people...Walking mental time bombs, planning for the big day. Throw in tens of thousands of gang members, many here illegally, many with nothing to lose, that don’t fear jail one bit...A second home if you will.”
My wife was reading me the riot act tonight because I haven’t gotten my carry permit here in Colorado. I had one in Tennessee but never bothered when we moved because the town where we live just isn’t as dangerous as Nashville and you can carry in your vehicle here.
What trend? There are shootings every day, just like this. Its just the trendy thing to report for now. After a while they'll pick on something else.
Normally, shootings are just a local story. Gang shootings aren't even worthy of local news in places like LA or Detroit.
I notice that the Colorado church shooter was homeschooled, and said to be from a devoutly religious family, but that doesn't make me think every Christian or homeschooled kid is going to go off the deep end.
FWIW, my minority students tell me that gangs do their shootings in the community, not at school. They say it's only the crazy middle-class white kids who try to shoot people at school.
INDEED.
What Las Vegas is in Nevada, but Las Vegas != Nevada.
Las Vegas is filled with more head cases than you can count.
Would it be fair to use him as an example of what home-schooled Christians are like?
Fox - your post is so sad. I never knew anybody who ‘wanted to kill’ anyone. I am so sorry that you were dealt such horrible blows in your youth.
And, you lived close to the Va Tech shootings? That had to be a shock to you.
I raised my children just down the street from where the Colorado shooter was raised. My kids even played in that house and yard, when they were little. That shocked me.
We must not allow ourselves to become ‘numb’ to what seems to be happening in our country. We must continue to be alert, and (if we can) pray.
Hugs to you — and I mean that. HUGS!
Jeez...what the heck is going on????!!!
We've got MS-13 in Virginia.
He may have been homeschooled because of his problems not because homeschooling caused them as was suggested on another thread.
I know a kid who was headed for JD. The public school kicked him out. They didn’t want to deal with him any more so his mother was forced to homeschool him. Now if he had gone off the deep end, everyone could point to the fact that he had been homeschooled, which was actually a result of his problems not the cause of them. It would paint a very inaccurate, unflattering picture of homeschoolers and be used with glee by those who wish to bash it.
MS-13 is very active in 33 states. (Probably more than that - but here is a link with some MS-13 information)
http://www.keystosaferschools.com/ms-13.htm
Save yourself a trip, I'll come by and pick them up & drop them off for you.
Well, 300,000 is the number they quoted on CNN - but I truly doubt it is that large.
If I were a parent of a child in public school in Vegas - I would probably move to Muleshoe, Texas or anywhere small.
Are you kidding? We’ve got them all over the place here in Florida. They’re in at least half of the states in our country.
Thanks.
Does anyone have seriously accurate info about the NWO folks liasing with gangs?
I don’t doubt it . . . but I only have read generalized statements. I’m a bit curious on more up-to-date info.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
What parent in their right mind would send a child to a school with a gang problem? I don’t care what religion or non-religion the school is.
Oh yeah! I forgot! ( silly me!) Parents who can’t **ransom** their children from the government indoctrination camps, by paying private tuition or homeschooling, have no choice.
If these parents refuse to turn their kids over to the government school workers armed police will force them. If these parents resist, they face imprisonment. If they are sufficiently resistant, armed police will kill them. ( Real bullets in those guns on the hip.)
Aren’t government schools great! ( barf!)
bad stuff that.
An election, and important decision from the Supremes.
Every firearms incident will be reported at length like a Florida shark attack to influence the primaries, the Supremes, and the general election.
All of the leading candidates are pro-gun control. If the Supremes get the impression from reading the Washington Post that firearms don’t belong in the general population, they’ll rule in favor of more restrictions.
“It would paint a very inaccurate, unflattering picture of homeschoolers and be used with glee by those who wish to bash it.”
You are SO RIGHT!
People will use ANYTHING to promote their cause.
Homeschoolers do NOT deserve to be summed up based on the Co situation.
To do so would be wrong.
Sounds like Nevada is a Quagmire. We have lost the War in Nevada. We should get out now...
There’s a novel called “Bug Jack Baron” by Norman Spinrad that tackles international terrorism by ridiculing them when they are alive, and dissing them when they’re dead. An interesting concept similar to the one you wrote. A good story, too, with lots of action.
Amen!
North Las Vegas, homeboy.
Ramius, I agree, see my #77. This is like shark attacks, or 1994- every front page of every newspaper had an “assault weapon” story, every TV news, radio...until AWB passed, then it seemed the problem cleared up in a week or so.
Prayers up for the injured....
Might be news to you, but Las Vegas Nevada has a higher crime rate per capita than LA, California.
In fact, Las Vegas has higher crime in both property and violent crime catagories than does LA, California.
Another fact is Las Vegas crime rate is rising, while LA, Cal has dropped dramatically.
Another fact is LA, Cal has lower crime than most all cities in this country of comparable size.
Interesting huh?
bttt
Adding my prayers with yours and bumping your accurate observations.
I’ve been away from the news for a few hours...is it gang related?
Actually... That’s really quite interesting.
When you and I were in high school, we had parents. There are fewer and fewer stay-at-home moms, and fewer stay-with-yer-wife fathers. Boomers have trusted the socialists to raise their kids, raised taxes to pay for it - making mom have to work, and hollywood and video games have given the green light to fantasize wasting your enemies. Yah, it is inevetible for some. The rest of us can concentrate on being parents. Funny how this crap not only happens, but is run 24/7 just before landmark 2A situations... SCOTUS, and the 2008 elections. Curious. A little too curious.
“What the hells goin on in Nevada?”
My thoughts exactly...., however, it could involve Harry Reid. There needs to be an investigation.
Maybe so, but the stoned liberals think yer Jesus!
The Bavarian Illuminati controls MS-13 through the Council on Foreign Relations. Everbody knows that.
Maybe we should ban gun free zone and we all should start packin’. These spineless people will not have the will to do this crap when the lead start flyin back at ‘em.
At most the media should say that the shooter was an effeminate cross-dressing homo-erotic Klansman...
Yep... When I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago there was news of yet another gang shooting nightly it seems... I wouldn’t place this incident in the same “class” as the Church Shootings, nor the Mall Shooting, personally. Gang violence is a completely different “creature” if you will from people who “snap” and commit mass murders.
No, everybody does not know that. Fred Thompson for example. (CFR member)
Ahhhhhh, the voice of an expert.
Cmon, don't you think it's ODD there haven't been any pictures of Bush Sr. with his shirt off in the last 5 years?
That's because Yale's Skull & Bones are the go-betweens moving the money between the CFR and MS-13; Bush is covered with gang tatoos, which he keeps covered up.
The pieces all fit together.
There ARE things to be concerned about that are happening in our world, Strategerist and I personally find that your sarcasm doesn’t help to uncover truths that may exist... I would caution you to be careful in automatically dismissing anything you find “uncomfortable” to deal with. I don’t believe everything I read, but more often than not there are nuggets of truth, and to dismiss everything is plain naive, IMHO.
Well, let's be factual.
Big city public school schooling is overly expensive, poorly run, indoctrinating instead of educating and, dare I say it, dangerous.
Now, if you want to dispute that statement with facts, have at it.
Listen to your wife.
We can't get them in my state. People carry anyway.
You both need to get off the bash all public schools bandwagon that is so pervasive on this forum
No they do not, and it is not pervasive enough by one 100th of one percent.
The public school system has given us the modern day social and political realities of America today.
As one who once worked in education, I am appalled at how totally the pursuit of the end of America, and the manner in which the achievements, ideals, values, pride and dignity of Western Civilization are so thoroughly demeaned in all of public education, both normal and higher.
Were it to fall apart and crash burning to the ground, this country would be the greater for it.
It is no longer an asset, but a public disgrace. - Abolish it, in toto.
The founding fathers would be once again moved to revolutionary action.
Decadent: adj; fallen from a higher plane or ideal.
I don't dismiss anything I find "uncomfortable," I dismiss anything I find "silly."
And the press should not print the names of anyone who commits such crimes.
Oh the globalists are toasting each other tonight as they celebrate their plan to destroy America - fill it with smut and violence, pit the races against each other, take God or any sense of moral responsibility out of our schools, tax the sh#t out of everyone, fill the airwaves with sports and gibberish...
They are winning America.. Wake up and smell the rooting flesh of freedom and independence.
