... Giuliani's concern for Nathan's security should not come as a surprise to anyone. In his best-selling 2002 memoir "Leadership," Giuliani recounts that one of his main concerns on Sept. 11, 2001 was that the terrorists who attacked the Twin Towers and Pentagon might also be coming after Nathan. He describes his priorities after he and his top advisers finally managed to find a site, a firehouse, to serve as a new command center after fleeing the one at the World Trade Center. He and his team called city hospitals to make sure they were ready for the injured. Then they made sure other possible targets such as the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building and Stock Exchange were under extra guard. Then, he writes, he called his "loved ones" -- first Hanover, to tell her he had sent extra security to evacuate Gracie Mansion, the mayoral residence, and then Nathan, both to reassure her that he was okay and to check on her security.
"I called Judith Nathan, who had been by my side for two difficult years," Giuliani writes. "Our relationship at that point was very public, and she, too, had received threats. I thought those attacking the city might go after her, and I wanted to make sure she was safe." He continues, "When I finally got on the phone, I told Judith I loved her and that she must stay in her apartment -- that she'd be safest there and that security was already on the way."

Priorities, ya know? LOL
Yep—those squeegeemen were out flying airplanes into buildings to launch revenge on the mayor and his mistress.
Makes perfect sense. /s
Cant you just hear Jooty at that revelation?
W-h-a-a-a-a-t---you called your wife BEFORE you called me?"
YES..it does make sense. He also had many enemies before 9-11.
The braindead botniks see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.
The botniks believe all city budgets underwrite
the Mayor satisfying his sexual urges with a bimbo.
This had nothing to do with terrorists. The guy had a wife at home and a girlfriend on the side. Wife and girlfriend each needed police protection from the other.
And who would walk the dog?
I am really not sure what the big deal is over this issue but if we care about Giuliani providing security for his mistress; we should also care about why Mort Zuckerman, the billionaire, seems to have the NYPD at his disposal. There is, routinely, an SUV with NYP plates and chauffeur stationed outside his Upper East Side, Manhattan home. Does anyone know anything about this? Can a private citizen (a billionaire), obtain an NYP license plate or is Bloomberg simply helping out Mort at taxpayers’ expense?
It’s just lucky that neither the wife nor the girlfriend ever learned the truth about Rudy and Bernie.
Don’t be silly. Of course she should have gotten protection.
To pretend otherwise would be to be blind to operational realities. To fail to provide security would have been a dereliction on the part of the city security apparatus.
Yah, you hate Rudy. I get that. But it would be better to spend energy on things that really matter.
Gee. How self-important and self-centered can he be?
NYPD is supposed to protect people in the city. Does Mort get to take NYPD officers with him when he travels to other states like Rudy’s mistress did?
Just watch - when Rudy drops out of the race (and that won't take too long now) even Rudy will concede that it was indefensible. It was really just theft.
Planes crash into the Pentagon and WTC and you think dispatching NYPD law enforcement to check on the mistress of the mayor is a proper and appropriate application of priorities? You think it is sound to conclude that the WTC attack was all about Rudy--that it was an attack on him? This makes no sense to me.
Why? What specific threat was there to Judi?
It's not going to make sense, either. Some of these guys are in love with Rudy. It's beyond rationality.
I have no idea if the NYPD travels around with Mort; I can assure you, however, that there is no NYP SUV, with a driver stationed outside my apartment building waiting for or “protecting” me. What I do know, for a fact, is that Mort uses this arrangement as his personal car service.
NOWHERE has it EVER been said (or that he thought) that it was all about him.
