Conservative Muslim Peer criticises Muslim 'Victim Culture' (UK)
The Times (UK) ^

The Conservative peer who helped negotiate the release of the primary school teacher jailed in Sudan for allowing her pupils to name a teddy bear Mohamed attacked her fellow British Muslims today for their "victim culture".

Baroness Warsi, a Conservative spokeswoman on community cohesion, also criticised Labour for its "patronage politics" and for having encouraged the "divisive concept" of multiculturalism.

Lady Warsi, 36, born to Pakistani parents in Dewsbury, Yorkshire, is the youngest member of the House of Lords. She came to public notice earlier this month when she was asked by Lord Ahmed, a Labour peer, to accompany him to Sudan to mediate the release of Gillian Gibbons, who had been jailed for insulting Islam.

Peerages can be awarded to any British Citizen.

Sorry you seem to have a problem with that.

I am aware of that fact, thank you, Shrimp. My point is that putting Muslims in any sort of position of authority or regularizing their belief system is not healthy for the preservation of the values and traditions that made England great.

Well at least there is one Muslim that is taking on with great courage this nonsense of a “Muslim victim culture”.

Muslims reject western heritage, culture, the rule of law, etc. As their numbers grow, they become more assertive and more demanding. One moderate is only one.

I disagree.

Note what she's speaking out about. I think it's important for moderate Muslims to have a public voice.

"Multiculturalism has been manipulated to entrench the right to difference, a divisive concept, at the expense of the right to equal treatment despite difference, a unifying concept.

Finally someone gets it.

Now if we could only get the Democrats to see the light. But no that is unlikely because that is where there grass roots are; pushing for special rights.

Guess he figures that over there only whites with bad dental hygiene and names like Throckmorton or Cavendish should be allowed to serve in government. LOL!

Even one person, this one moderate for standing up to this “Muslim victim culture” is a real profile in courage.

"...Sorry you seem to have a problem with that..."

Friend, you should be sorry that you don't see a problem with that.

We've transcended the whole "you're a bad person if you look askance at islam" mode; we are at the next level, the "it's common sense to question the presence of islam in any area of western society" mode. Just so you know, self-preservation and the survival of my (and your) family now trumps hurt muslim feelings every time.

I'm not, though.

You see, barring some sort of Final Solution or mass expulsions, Muslims are here to stay in Britain. I have a couple of Muslim friends, who like to go to the pub and have pint and a fag (cigarette) and look at girls just like anyone else.

Now, the only way to turn these guys into radicals would be to tell them that they're evil just because of their religion. I had much rather they had people like the Baroness to represent their views in public.

"Britishness is not something that can be put in words. It is about institutions, and traditions, and the shared values which are often felt more than spoken."

Spot on, love!
