Disputes holding up the completion by Russia of Iran's first nuclear power station at Bushehr have been resolved, the head of Russian state contractor Atomstroiexport said Thursday.
"The difficulties with the Iranian client are resolved and we have an agreement on the timetable for construction. I will give more details at the end of December," said Atomstroiexport head Sergei Shmatko. "We absolutely plan to build Bushehr."
Bushehr is at the heart of Iran's controversial nuclear plans, which Teheran says only involve power generation, but which Israel, the United States and some European countries believe includes a military component.
However, Shmatko would not give details on plans to send nuclear fuel needed for Bushehr to start functioning.
Moscow has blamed payment disputes and poor equipment for delays to the completion of Bushehr, but the hold-ups also came amid intense international pressure on Iran to clear suspicions over its nuclear ambitions.

"We absolutely plan to build Bushehr."
That's no mere taunt, more like a geopolitical-in-your-face, brazen poke in the eye, to say the least.
No doubt about it, the Mullah Express is on a fast track to nuclear nightmare. So the question is, when do the good guys get a break? Well, the kind of break we need is the kind you make yourself,if you know what I mean.
Russia and Iran partnering up to build Bushehr - back away, nothing to see.
“Ignore Germany, punish France, forgive Russia”. What a winning strategy it has been...
Great post.

Russia has negotiated a payment schedule with Iran and will complete the Bushehr nuclear power plant, both nations announced today. The move comes in the wake of the NIE that reversed years of intelligence analysis and declared Iran's nuclear weapons program halted. The Russians appear happy to accept that conclusion, even if Britain and Israel strongly disagree:

This puts the situation in a critical state. Once Russia delivers the fuel, an airstrike will be out of the question for Bushehr. The Israelis made sure to hit Osirak before France delivered the fuel in order to avoid spreading nuclear contamination over a wide area, where it would affect civilians. If the Israelis believe that Bushehr represents the same kind of threat as Osirak, it will have to strike very soon or not at all. They have stated over and over again that they will not allow Iran to go nuclear; will they have the same determination as they did in 1981 to stop them?
