Dozens of Employees Walk Away From Electrolux

NewsChannel 5 looked into whether the plant employed illegal immigrants. Sources told NewsChannel 5 more than 100 workers have been let go in the past couple of days. The employees said it was complete chaos. According to a NewsChannel 5 source, so many workers have been let go that it has been hard to do their jobs at the Electrolux plant.

Second and Third shifts have been hit the hardest, and they believe the company is taking action to fix a problem that should not have happened in the first place. Diane Casey has lived across the street from the Electrolux plant for years. In that time she has had a front row seat of who comes in and out of the plant, but Friday was different from the rest. It was an observation shared by many during the plants' shift change around 1:00 Friday afternoon.

According to a NewsChannel5 source, Electrolux let go 120 employees Thursday and 52 on Friday.

"They were calling your supervisor, calling names to go to HR, taking them to HR and from there walking them out the door. Something about their ID's or Social Security numbers weren't matching," said an anonymous employee. Electrolux released the following statement: "Electrolux does not tolerate or condone the use of false documentation in attempting to establish work eligibility. Every new hire undergoes two verifications of employment eligibility. In light of the recent news stories, we are conducting a review of employment eligibility documentation. The company's policy regarding the presentation of false identity or work authorization documents is termination of employment." "After our last break on the lines it just went berserk," said the employee.

A phone call during second shift Thursday night prompted many employees to walk out.

"Somebody had called in saying INS was going to be there to pick them up when they walked out the door, so they voluntarily walked out themselves," said the employee. The situation could hurt Electrolux's production. Electrolux wouldn't confirm or deny the number of workers that have been let go in recent days or why. The immigration and customs enforcement department, better known as "ICE," is looking into illegal document vendors in the Springfield area.

Earlier this week, federal Agents arrested two people, and charged them with making and selling fake IDs in Robertson County.

“How about Tyson foods in Huckansas.”

We’ve had the number of tuburculous reports here in North Alabama. One company had over half the work force identified as failing the TB test.

What is truely remarkable is that one TV station went to the clinic where these people were being tested/treated to see if they could interview any of them. The TV crew reported that they could not get any interviews since none of those identified “spoke English”.

Sort of. The company knew but didn't care until they realized they were under the microscope.

Are you sure if you had a republican governor, things would be any different?

Been saying this all along. Show determination in enforcing our existing laws and the illegal immigration problem will begin to implode of its own weight.

Exactly what Tancredo has been saying for years, also, back when he was but a voice crying out in the wilderness....

Yep. These companies insulate themselves by hiding behind a layers of deniability, often outsourcing their hiring/vetting, as Electrolux does, to an overseas firm. Absolutely no question that this is a sophisticated ring.

They’ll begin to leave of their own volition

Hopefully, they will leave. If enough politicians start making noise about providing tax money to support them while they look for another job to steal, they might just stay.

After all, if they have a mortgage and kids in the local public school, it would be difficult to uproot all that.

The law is ripe for abuse. Companies receive information that illegals are working for the company. The company fires the illegals. The company rehires the illegals after more phony documents are presented. That gives the company another 90 days before they are informed again. Fire the illegals, rehire the same illegals. What has been set up is a basis to establish a pattern only by an offending company. But once in court the company pleads innocent based on their not knowing the documents were phony.

I would like to be more positive, but the only way to stop this is to round these people up, as the company is in the process of firing them. Then the illegals go across the border and come back. America is caught up in a vicious circle. To remove the illegals will take force, regretfully, and prison time for company officials. I want these people removed, but I realize this is another part of the plan by which a nation can be brought to its knees through Economic Warfare.

The solutions presently being utilized are a disgrace to common sense. Our government officials are giving out free health care, free welfare, free educations, etc. The illegals coming here are involved in fraud, theft, murder, rape, and countless other crimes. The illegals are taking advantage and the illegals have had a taste of being able to take advantage. The situation is grim at best. The only solution left is to utilize the full force of the law. Regretfully, the full force of the law will never be utilized against the illegals. A majority of the politicians want the illegals here.

If the jobs dry up so does the mortgage. The whole point is enforcing current law which prohibits employers from hiring undocumented workers. And workers with fake documents are criminals on two counts. Maybe three if they used fake documents to procure that mortgage.

As to the kids losing their school...oh, well. That's the price one pays for committing a crime to come here in the first place.

The company knew but didn't care until they realized they were under the microscope.

Exactly; and if ALL employers knew they would be facing the piper, VERY FEW would be hiring illegals...and the draw for the illegals to continue coming here would have been substantially reduced.

I agree with everything you said, especially the above, that is why, all your previous statements occur in the first place.

The majority of politicians, and the corporate greedholders, and the elitists/globalists, want the illegals here. So...they playing the revolving door game...thinking the sheep will believe they aren't playing any games at all.

Too bad we aren't all sheep or asleep and know exactly all about the game they are playing. We need people in the Senate and the House that are like Senator Sessions and Rep. Tancredo....we don't need any person in office any longer who is a traitor to America, like the majority now are.

Cool tactic! Electrolux should have never hired these illegals in the first place, so a pox on them...!

Yep, that whole I-81 corridor, all the way up from Knoxville through Bristol and Abingdon to Roanoke and beyond is infested with illegals.

I can only wish us good luck. America is going to need the good luck. It has been said there is no such thing as luck, one makes their own luck.

Americans are slow to anger, and the politicians are aware of Americans' flaws of slow to anger, slow to find viable solutions to problems, and slow to react once anger wells up. The politicians have agreed to help bring America down to third world status. Whom the politicians have brokered a deal with is anyone's guess. Anyone who says it cannot happen here, should review World History.

It is not over yet, but the pathway is established and the politicians believe most Americans to be idiots. BS is fed out to the general population and the general population eats it up. Changing our politicians will not come easy. Americans will be fought, all the way, by money and greed.

Electrolux is a Swedish company. Yeh..Sweden that socialist mecca.
I think they deserve to be freeped.
Go to Electrolux.com. They think they are an open minded company so they have easy access to their execs on line.
Let’s give them a piece of our mind.
I don’t think they could get away with this in Sweden..it is too much of a granny police state.
