Clintonian triangulation comes full circle (Sinking HMS Hillary taking Bill with her)
LA Times ^ | 12/18/07 | Jonah Goldberg

Posted on 12/18/2007 5:42:48 AM PST by teddyballgame

The most enjoyable aspect of watching the HMS Hillary take on water is the prospect that Bill -- and his cult of personality -- will go down with the ship too.

Bill Clinton has been stumping for his wife on the Iowa hustings, framing the election as a referendum on his tenure as president. Last month in Muscatine (during the same speech in which he falsely claimed to have opposed the Iraq war from the beginning), he told the assembled Democrats that HMS Hillary could transport America "back to the future."

Last summer, when he first started hawking Hillary like a door-to-door salesman, he told a crowd: "I know, some people say, 'Look at them. They're old. They're sort of yesterday's news.' ... "Well," Slick Willie said, grinning, "yesterday's news was pretty good."

If it weren't for all those innocent souls forced to rejoin their makers as sacrifices, you'd hafta feel a little sorry for Mrs. Clinton.

Yeah that and, “she’s a terrible liar. She comes across calculated because that’s all that’s left to her: calculation.”

I think Dems are starting to realize that she’s all calculation and lacks the politcal skills of Slick Willy. Dems having major reservations. Personally the sooner she’s out of th ereace th better I’ll feel. I’d feel better with Obamamama that Hillary as the Dems nominee.

The S.S. Clintanic is sinking fast, and many of the rats are getting brave enough to leave the ship, and even dare to speak ill of the captain now....

IMHO, this is like watching the last days of Hitler...

How many sycophants are going to go down with them, and will enough Democrats survive to build a new Democratic Party from the ashes of the Clinton Legacy?

Her hands were even shaking uncontrollably when she stepped out of the Hillicopter....

Yes they do marvel at his skills as a lying, manipulative, opportunistic, snake-oil salesman.

If Hillary's lies take her down along with her White House dreams, that's poetic justice.

Such lines as these are stunning, coming from the LA Times.

I wonder if some of the true Dems aren’t tired of being pushed around by the Clinton Machine where every Democrat principle and position is kept or jettisoned solely on whether it will advance a Clinton’s power.

We can only hope this is happening. In the event, it would be a bright, shining day for the USA. Finally free of the Clintons, after a long 15 years.

Actually, it’s coming from Jonah Goldberg, but it is amazing that the LAT would choose to publish him.

I guess it’s their weekly condescending nod to the conservatives, so they can at least say...”we publish all points of view”.

Yes, and No. While predating Clinton, the Dems are supposedly considering replacing Byrd on the Senate Appropriations Committee with Patty Murray(?).

One comment from that thread was "...replacing senility with insanity".

The Clintons were just one boil, er, two boils on the buttocks of the country. The Dems will always seek to inflict more discomfort on people in their lustful pursuit of power.

You’re both right. I’m not counting her out but I think if she loses, more than just Republicans will be happy about it. (And if she loses, I expect both Bill and Hillary to make a full court press for positions with the United Nations. Power-hunger can rarely be suppressed.)

Bingo. The arrogance of the Clintons has even alienated the press. The press know they are whores, but they don't like having a politician wave the torn fishnets around in public, and the transparency of the Clintons' attempts to manipulate the press via their media stooges is comparable.

Bubba's helpers even called Charlie Rose's producers to get him to ease off the questioning during his interview last week. a) That's pathetic, since Rose is hardly a charter member of the VRWC; and b) it's telling that these attempts were publicized immediately, almost as if the press were like a dog that bites back after being kicked one too many times by its owner.

From your link...

Former President Bill Clinton said Monday that the first thing his wife Hillary will do when she reaches the White House is dispatch him and his predecessor, President George H.W. Bush, on an around-the-world mission to repair the damage done to America's reputation by the current president — Bush's son, George W. Bush.

He's got the gall, doesn't he?

Probably didn't give it a passing thought before he spouted this pure (and deeply insulting) fabrication.

It just comes natural...

I made that Camealot image ages ago, and nobody ever 'got it' until I hyphenated it.

People told me that I mis-spelled "Camelot" and nobody ever seemed to notice anything fishy about it. There are actually two modifications to Monica over the original... her left hand has been moved too. :-)
