"One scared and frightened teenager does something stupid and you condemn the whole country. Quite a leap."

I am 13th generation American. You really think what I said is because of 'one scared and frightened teenager'? No! It's the last 30-40 years of absolute American STUPIDITY and BIZARRO WORLD!

I may be in the minority here, but I am strongly in favor of “Safe Haven” laws. It at least gives the baby a chance to be placed in a good, loving home, rather than left outside in a dumpster for dead.

I don't even know where to begin...

I do. Why do they permit a newborn baby to be abandoned anyplace "as long as the baby is warm, dry and protected from the elements" when it is illegal in New York (considered child abuse) to leave a child unattended even where adults are present?

Liberalism is about the absence of consequences for behavior."

Absolutely... starts with the liberal women not taking responsibility for their sexual behaviors... ends in abortion or abandoning the baby like this or by having a career in the child's baby and toddler years as well as the formative years. (They wonder why Binky and Muffy take drugs or drink -idiots)

And, interestingly, NOW and other such feminazi groups give women a pass for their own stupidity. They might as well tell women they're stupid and get it over with.

In Roman times it was common for unwanted babies to be left in the woods for animals to eat.

...And we all know what happened to the Romans...

Thanks again for the link. Maybe the moderator did it because the article couldn’t be quoted in whole or part. Some media don’t allow us to do that.

Liberals created laws that allow any mother to drop off her baby, no questions asked, no records kept, no cost, no fuss, no muss, no bother. Those laws didn’t work because they failed to recognize that people with absolutely no sense of responsibility aren’t going to give one dirty diaper about laws or babies, and aren’t going to make the effort to bring the baby to a drop-off center.

Liberal laws always fail, and when they fail, liberals always demand a strengthening of the laws that failed.

As the snow flies
On a cold and gray chicago mornin
A poor little baby child is born
In the ghetto
And his mama cries
cause if theres one thing that she dont need
Its another hungry mouth to feed
In the ghetto

People, dont you understand
The child needs a helping hand
Or hell grow to be an angry young man some day
Take a look at you and me,
Are we too blind to see,
Do we simply turn our heads
And look the other way

Well the world turns
And a hungry little boy with a runny nose
Plays in the street as the cold wind blows
In the ghetto

And his hunger burns
So he starts to roam the streets at night
And he learns how to steal
And he learns how to fight
In the ghetto

Then one night in desperation
A young man breaks away
He buys a gun, steals a car,
Tries to run, but he dont get far
And his mama cries

As a crowd gathers round an angry young man
Face down on the street with a gun in his hand
In the ghetto

As her young man dies,
On a cold and gray chicago mornin,
Another little baby child is born
In the ghetto

I don't think you are in the minority. I think like myself, most would think of those laws with revulsion and speak of them with disgust ONLY because we see the necessity and it turns our stomach. The idea that we need those laws at all is revolting. That you have to tell people not to murder their children and then go out of your way to give them an option besides execution by exposure to the elements. The fact that we have to do that makes me sick. But no, I don't condemn the laws themselves. They save lives. Really it was the efforts of the Church in the 'middle ages' that changed the prevalence of this practice to adoption and orphanages. So this is a backslide from Christian principles.

"This is what happens after several generations of teaching our kids they have no value. That they are a freak accident of lightning hitting a pool of goo."

I politely disagree with you. I am not a troll, but a conservative evangelical Christian.

Leaving babies out in the cold, to die, is as old an act as mankind himself. It's well documented in most sociology texts. And, curiously, it is often used by the left as an age-old justification for abortion. Meaning, when man was virtually an animal he did the same thing. I seem to recall that Eskimos used to leave one of two twins to die in the cold because an Eskimo woman could not possibly care for, nurse, and carry two babies at once.

Don't get me wrong, I am on your side. Just want to set the record straight.

I wonder where the pro-abortion crowd comes down on this.

Is the mother exercising her so-called right to choose?

Is this post-birth fetus a human being?

Is a pre-birth fetus a human being?

So many logical questions. So many illogical answers.

Nice logical questions - and if you used those questions to lead a discussion with a pro-abort, they would eventually stop, place their hands over their ears, and declare “a woman should have the right to choose”.

I thought legalized abortion on demand was supposed to stop this. All it did was mainstream the notion that unwanted children are just trash.

Moncada's two friends went with the baby to the hospital to make sure it was all right, he said.

Wow, two 15 year old boys did that....that's so sweet and so protective (as if "The adults around here haven't done a good job by this baby so far.")

Just saying that times have been REALLY BAD before now.
Yes, this country will probably go the same way the Roman Empire did....sadly.

It isn’t vanity. God created all humans with intrinsic value, you, me, even the criminally insane.

Which is why I don’t go around willy nilly shootin every liberal chowder head, I think needs it.

If it happened in Denton, Tx absolutely; it would be the fathers fault because he impregnated her and/or he didn’t stop her from doing it.

If the child were old enough to say the mom did it they would say the Dad planted that idea in the kids head.

"I’ll take her!"

Yes, for sure!

Back in the early to mid 1990's when 'chat-channel' internet was big, my wife and I used to go into channels and announce that we would like to speak and help anyone considering an abortion. We gave an e-mail address and in some cases my business phone number. Yes, for all to see. Other than a few 'way-to-go' and a lot of 'get out' comments, we never did receive any calls from a pregnant girl who was troubled.
