Obama: History’s verdict on Bush will ‘not be kind’
The Hill ^ | December 18, 2007 | Klaus Marre

Posted on 12/18/2007 11:50:53 AM PST by mdittmar

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) on Tuesday blasted President Bush’s foreign policy record, saying that “his judgments will be subject to the harsh light of history, and the verdict will not be kind.”

But Obama also criticized his main opponents for the Democratic nomination for helping start the Iraq war.

“It’s easy for us to lay all of the problems of the world at George Bush’s doorstep,” Obama said in Des Moines, Iowa.

“George Bush did not take us to war alone,” the Illinois senator stated, noting that Congress authorized the use of force.

Obama indicated that his opposition to the war gives him an edge in a general election matchup.

“My opponent won’t be able to say that I ever supported the war in Iraq, or that I don’t support a clear timetable to bring our troops home,” Obama said, taking a swipe at Democratic front-runner Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.). “He won’t be able to say that I voted to use our troops in Iraq to counter Iran, or that I support the Bush-Cheney diplomacy of not talking to leaders we don’t like.”

Obama reiterated his pledge to personally talk to Iran about its choices.

“We need a president who is willing to talk to all nations — friend and foe,” Obama said. “Not talking doesn’t make us look tough, it makes us look arrogant.”

The Illinois senator pledged to listen to all of his advisers and said that there would not be an “ideological or loyalty test” in his administration.

More like a greasy smear on the path of the 2008 elections.

Dear Mr. Obama: In real life, do we respect or look up to the person in the room who is eager to announce his availability for conversation with everyone in the room? Or do we respect the person who considers his time valuable, and only speaks to those who treat him with dignity?

Who made Obamba a historian? Truth is, the history is just now being written for real regarding Joe McCarthy, now 60 years later. I’ll be sure to pick my history books carefully on President Bush in the year 2067, and make sure I don’t read any authors by the name of Obamba... or Hussein.

“Obama: History’s verdict on Bush will ‘not be kind’”

That’s wrong, but history will not remember Michael Dukakis and B. Hussein Obama.

History’s verdict on Obama will be “lightweight that Hillary trampled in landslide to nomination”Indeed. It remains to be seen if Soros and his fortune out spends Oprah's.

Reagan was hated abroad; he was hated alike by the liberal within the US.

Nonetheless, NO SINGLE PERSON in politics did more to contribute to an end of the Cold War that he. The Germans to proud, to stupid and self absorbed, would never admit it, but their country today stands united because of him.

The movers and shakers are often disliked at the time, may they be Teddy Roosevelt or Ronald Reagan ("Man in the Arena" was not a speech written because of all the positive press Teddy got). But it’s actually the Clinton's who brought us 911, a President that perjures himself and has oral sex in the Oval Office that go down as a farce in history right next to Carter.

“So Obambi thinks we’d be better off with Saddam still in power?”

That’s a requirement for anyone sucking off of Soros’ tit. Durbin, Ms Clinton, the whole bunch.

All I know is Obama is a dangerously naive lightweight.

For comparison and contrast purposes, it would be nice if someone asked him what he thinks history’s verdict on Castro will be.

Anyone else notice this?

“My opponent won’t be able to say that I ever supported the war in Iraq, or that I don’t support a clear timetable to bring our troops home,” Obama said, taking a swipe at Democratic front-runner Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.). “He won’t be able to say that I voted to use our troops in Iraq to counter Iran, or that I support the Bush-Cheney diplomacy of not talking to leaders we don’t like.”

“My opponent”
“taking a swipe at . . . Hillary Rodham Clinton . . .”
“He won’t be able to say . . .”

“HE” ???

Enabling two democracys in the middle east will be massively impactful on the future and world security. Likely it will be the main thing Bush is remembered for.

Democracys do not make war on each other. They do not spread terrorism.
