Those morons decided not to ask about the third-strongest Republican against Hillary in the prior month’s poll!

Geez....my neighbors are idiots. I have probably the only Fred Thompson bumper stiker in all of Portland.

Now this mildly surprises me, given that Bush did not run strongly in Oregon in 2004.

Holy Cow. OREGON????

One thing these SurveyUSA polls are showing us is that Hillary has very few states she can expect to win handily. She will have to compete for every single electoral vote, except maybe Illinois, Calilfornia, and New York.

That's only because I don't want my car to be keyed. ;o)

There was a straw poll conducted in Sun River a couple of months ago.
Obama and Edwards finished first and second, and it was very close.
Hillary was a distant third.

They don’t much cotton to her out here.

I think the reason Bush didn’t run very strongly here is that the anti-war facists turned out in droves.
That, and there were some middle of the road people who were unhappy with the war.

Outside of Portland, the state isn’t the cesspool that the city is.

As I said in my post above this one, the ‘Rats/libs here don’t much like Hillary.

It's not just here. Hillary has a ceiling of 46-51% above which she cannot go, because there are so many people who absolutely will not vote for her.

Not at all. McCain has more appeal to independents than Bush (or anyone else for that matter).

I was listening to local talk radio AM 620 for a few minutes yesterday. Caught the station purely by chance while dial shifting. Seems that Qwest is losing customers by the thousands in Portland. Young people are angry about about rampant over-charging for services. Many are dropping their land lines altogether and signing up with cell phone carriers. This development is fairly recent and explains the mountains of junk mail telephone advertising.

Although cell phone carriers allow people to continue to use their land line phone numbers -- younger people do not give a rip. Qwest is getting left out in the cold.

I say good riddance! Qwest is corrupt from top to bottom. Their former CEO is in prison for insider trading. I know some key repair people and know workers make easy cash money tapping telephones for large law firms and insurance companies. They have been doing this for years and getting away with it. The Fibbies need to open their eyes.

Conclusion: these telephone polls are mostly skewed to the left. The only people being polled are stay at home types: elderly, disabled, unemployed and others. Productive people don't have time to answer stupid questions by polling organizations.

I'm becoming a McCainiac.

Well, that's a little too strong. Maybe a McCaingrinandbearit.

He's not really less conservative than the other guys in double digits, and he's got a shot at winning the general.

And he doesn't cry.

It would be very interesting to see Ron Paul thrown in the mix in Oregon polling. I’m guessing that the fruits and nuts in Oregon would give him quite a boost and that most of his support would come at the expense of some Democrat votes.

Actually, most of Oregon is pretty conservative. I live in Southern Oregon and it’s not that much different from your basic western state.
