Jim Moran: American Troops Practice Genocide
Captain's Quarters ^ | Dec. 19, 2007 | Ed Morrissey

Posted on 12/19/2007 6:06:37 PM PST by jdm

In case we forgot Harry Reid's fantasy of al-Qaeda "civil war" in Iraq from yesterday, Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA) reminds us why Democrats have gone out of their minds on the Iraq debate. Moran tells Congress during the funding debate that American troops "ethnically cleansed" Baghdad. No kidding (via The Corner):

"Sure, there's less violence, but that's because we've ethnically cleansed most of Baghdad."

The UN and most of the rest of the world define ethnic cleansing as a form of genocide. Moran believes that American troops have conducted that crime in Baghdad as part of a pacification program. His words have no other meaning.

Of course, such an allegation is absurd on its face. Refugees streaming back to the capital put lie to such a scurrilous charge. In the next breath, Moran notes that the Sunnis stopped fighting us and started fighting al-Qaeda. Would they have likely made a choice to support the side committing genocide -- or did they recognize who the real genocidal maniacs are?

The overall conduct of our military has been upright, honorable, and has given great credit to the nation. Unfortunately, despicable public servants such as Moran have no problem slandering them in order to score political points.

>>>Rep. Jim Moran

Ah yes, I remember him.

John Moran, Ralph Reed and Jim Nicholson are the ones that opened up the RNC to Main Street and Log Cabin Republicans.

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,985970-2,00.html

Members of Team 100, an elite group of Republicans who have given more than $100,000 to the party, received an extraordinary letter this week from John Moran, finance chairman of Bob Dole’s presidential campaign and former finance chairman of the Republican National Committee. As first reported in the Washington Post, Moran charges that the R.N.C. has been hijacked by the Christian Coalition “and others who are adamantly opposed to a moderate agenda”; that these forces (led by Coalition executive director Ralph Reed) engineered the election as R.N.C. chairman of Jim Nicholson, who “will now be beholden to the far right for their support”; and that as a result, the members of Team 100 ought to be “giving consideration to throwing our financial support to a committee or organization that has a more moderate Republican political philosophy.” Saying the Coalition is at a point where it is “exercising significant control” over the R.N.C., Moran suggests that the G.O.P.’s future “is in jeopardy.”

During this same timeframe, the Federal Election Commission was suing the Christian Coalition for illegally supporting the Republican party.

John Moran told the party’s wealthiest donors to give their money to someone else, because the Republican National Committee is under control by religious extremists.

Moran = Despicable piece of trash whose mouth operates at a pace about 20 times faster than his brain. Anyone living in his district should be ashamed to have him as a representative.

What planet does this guy live on? Has he ever spoken to anyone from Iraq? Specifically Baghdad?
Maybe he should go do some homework and read the writings of the brothers who live there and have lived through this war from the beginning....dang I hate illiterate, ignorant congressmen.

Hey Jimmy before you make yourself look more foolish (in all honesty I doubt you could but hey...) talk to these guys or at least read what they have to say:

Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA) is indulging in broadcasting enemy propaganda as a willing agent for the enemy.

It doesn’t matter why. Be it from stupidity, idiocy, degeneracy, being paid, or rabid and unreasoning political depravity. He’s acting as an agent for the enemy by attempting to aid in reducing his fellow citizen’s trust and confidence in the military fighting on our behalf.

John Moran told the party’s wealthiest donors to give their money to someone else, because the Republican National Committee is under control by religious extremists.

What's he talking about? When in heck was the GOP ever controlled by Muslims?!?

Oh, wait; does he mean Phred Phelps? But he (thank God!) isn't ours, either.

Is he equating mainstream, non-Liberal/Leftist Christians with "extremists"?

Is he suffering from a bad case of Putin Envy?

C’mon folks ... we need to be more understanding of poor Jimmy. I mean, he can’t slap his wife around anymore, and he can’t go out and beat the cr*p out of middle schoolers. What else can he do when the bars are closed and he starts to sober up (making him oh so cranky), other than shoot his mouth off irrationally?

We are ashamed of having Jim Moron represent us. I knew him 27 years ago when he was a nice, concerned local politican. Once he went national, it went to his head and he apparently destroyed his marriage to Nancy by his rage and whatever other demons that now possess him.

Feel sorry for his daughter.

But like roaches, once you get a Democrat into the political woodwork, you have to burn down the building to get them out.

Here’s a nice little article on Moran:

Just for the record, I don’t care for him - at all.

This is the face of the modern Democrat Party: dominated by people who hate America. ALL these people EVER worry about is whether America's enemies might be inconvenienced or made uncomfortable: don't monitor their phone calls, detain them, question them aggressively. Moran and company make me physically ill.

He belongs to Planet Alexandria, where he served as mayor and then embarked on a career, as former Golden Gloves participant, of punching out his wives. He could not be elected in Virginia outside of Alexandria, Arlington and possibly Virginia Beach City.

It would take a small miracle for a Republican, much less a conservative, to win in that district.
