Racial Undercurrent Is Seen in Clinton Campaign
Washington Post ^ | December 23, 2007 | Chris Cillizza And Shailagh Murray

It has unfolded mostly under the radar. But an important development in the 2008 Democratic battle may be the building backlash among African Americans over comments from associates of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton that could be construed as jabs at Sen. Barack Obama's race.

These officials, including Clinton aides and prominent surrogates, have raised questions or dropped references about Obama's position on sentencing guidelines for crack vs. powder cocaine offenses; on his handgun control record; and on his admitted use of drugs as a youth. The context was always Obama's "electability." But the Illinois senator's campaign advisers said some African American leaders detect a pattern, and they believe it could erode Clinton's strong base of black support.

Here's a sample of how the issue is playing out [with Black journalists]:

[Snip]

From Black Star News of New York, Dec. 19:

"So the Clinton campaign decided to use the race card. A senior campaign official, Billy Shaheen, the co-chairman of Hillary Clinton's campaign in New Hampshire, warned voters that Obama might not be the suitable candidate because were he to win the Democratic nomination, those nasty Republicans could bring up the fact that Obama has admitted to using marijuana and cocaine in his youth. Might the Republicans not even ask whether Obama had also been a drug dealer? This was clearly playing to the deep seated stereotype that some white people harbor -- of Blacks as natural born criminals and drug dealers."

This is what liberals think. They are the racists.

Setting aside all the political baggage these candidates carry I’ve often wondered how the country would really vote if it came down to a white woman vs. a black man.

....of Blacks as natural born criminals and drug dealers...

Is this why Bubba enjoys the mantle of being the "First Black President"? I guess everyone needs goals.

Ha.
Truth be told, to bill’s credit, I don’t believe he has a racist bone in his body. To me, he looks truly comfortable around all people (except maybe the military.)
Mrs. clinton, OTOH, looks like she’d rather be ANYWHERE other than with a group of black people.

I would think that would come down to their politics.

The choice between a liberal trash white Hillary, or the liberal trash black Obama is a choice between rotten garbage and spoiled garbage.

Were they actually at different ends of the political spectrum, then that would be an interesting question.

Ever see the difference when she talks to a woman or a man?
I’m being serious. - She is totally relaxed and chatty on say, “the view.” - IOW:

>looks like she’d rather be ANYWHERE other than with a group of men.

I gotta defend Hillary on this one. She's always been an equal oppurtunity bigot.

The Democratic Party exists, in large measure, to control African Americans.

First through slavery, then through terrorism and discrimination, now through social dependency, denial of basic education and urban policies that discourage opportunity. This is why Harold Ford is not Speaker of the U. S. House of Representatives and this is why Barak Husein Obama will not be the Democratic nominee for President.

Anti-semite?

Nah, she hates everybody. Jews, blacks, Christians, non-anti-American Americans...

She currently has the need for all colors, creeds, sexes, and income brackets of useful idiots, until she gets back into real power, and tries to pull what Hugo Chavez tried to pull, and other have successfully pulled off, to the dismay of humanity, and becomes the Dear Great Leader for Life.

If I ever condescendingly spoke to my black neighbors in a fake Homey accent, like she did, I would have expected something a LOT worse than their vote.

Glad to see someone is figuring it out.

Aside from the fact that you get to enrich yourself by public corruption and get a pass from the MSM, it would suck to be a Democrat. Imagine having to be so touchy-feely & sensitive to your entitled constituents all the time.
