White House hopeful Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) said Sunday that the U.S. is moving toward fascism, stating that corporations are increasingly running the show and citizens are being deprived of their liberties.
Paul clarified that he did not refer to the type of fascism that Adolf Hitler practiced in Germany. Were not moving toward Hitler-type fascism, but were moving toward a softer fascism, Paul said on NBCs Meet the Press. Loss of civil liberties, corporations running the show, big government in bed with big business.
The lawmaker said the U.S. is moving toward corporatism. He also lashed out at a system in which those are criticized as unpatriotic who do not support the war in Iraq or the Patriot Act.

He sounds like the left wing nut roots of MoveOn or Kos...
Ron Paul doesn’t even belong in the Libertarian Party.
Ayn Rand would have kicked his ass. “Corporatism,” indeed.
How do..or who...is giving this nitwit all that
money?? nobody from this site?? JK
Dang! I was hoping Ron Paul could find a party , but not with the Republicans. Wonder where we could place him.
appreciate the pic...good one.
Millions and millions and millions of crumbs!
(its fund-raising baby, money is what he craves, send him some, and he will save your ass and the world, lol)
So are we moving to Mussolini’s or Franco’s Fascism then?
Big Media pressures Congress to change the laws as they see fit but that does not mean that the corporations run our foreign or domestic policy to a significant degree.
I want to know what “softer” fascism is. And no, RP does not belong in the Republican party. He and Dennie the K should get together and form their own party, maybe headquartered in Roswell, NM.
I’ve heard several multimulti millionaires and 2 billionaires who control billions in funds, in the last 4 months tell roundtable discussions that the Federal Reserve no longer controls the money supply. And the Fed itself has admitted so through a few white papers lately. The Fed is flying in London Chicago New York money guys to explain to the Feds senior staff the basics on newer types of credit vehicles.
Now, I don’t think this is what Paul was referring to, but man, when the government doesn’t control the money supply, and are openly admitting it, there are serious institutional problems with the form of governance.
Is it too late to put him in the Donner Party?
Ooh boy are you gonna get it from the Paulies!
LOL!
He’s half right because all the facism comes from the left via democrat allied ratbags like the ACLU, CAIR, PETA, Gore and his global warming Nazis and Clinton appointed judges. The man sounds like a loon.
Country: Paul should be moving toward Thorazine.
Poor Ron.....stuck on stupid and doesn’t recognize it -— nor do his cultists..
with the Nasi’s?
Not sure ..but what about the Blitzer Party?
Ron Paul doesnt even belong in the Libertarian Party.
Does Ron Paul even belong on planet Earth...???
After watching Ron Paul on “ Meet the Press” today, I am almost sure that Ron Paul is heading to a mental institution.
Ron Paul , today bashed Three Republican Presidents, ( Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, George Bush) , confessed to having withdrawn from the Republican Party in the eighties ,and confesses that America is moving toward Fascism.. ... Poor Ron Paul..and yet the dollars keep coming into his campaign...damn that George Soros.
What I what to know is who is running Ron Paul?
Paul is in full moonbat mode!
It's about time the Republican Party and its candidates refuse to appear on stage for any more debates if Paul is invited.
You're right, especially since the Republican Party abandoned freedom & Liberty so long ago.
That does not mean that the Fed no longer controls the money supply however.
C’mon, yes the Republicans could stand more for liberty and freedom, but Ron Paul is heading toward the edge of the cliff fast.
With this understanding and clarification, Ron Paul is correct. Government is regulating more and more and more. Regulated industries tend to capture the bureaucracies that regulate them, ie the drug industry influences the FDA, farmers influence the agriculture department.
It's a controversial statement, but it is also a true statement.
How nice one of the looney tune Ron Paul supporters has shown up! Takes a lot of nerve to step forward and defend Ron Paul. Bash the Republican party.... and WOULD YOU PLEASE TAKE RON PAUL OUT OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY.... WE DON'T NEED YOU..OR HIM.
Be interesting if Ron Paul goes 3rd Party...
Libertarian ping! To be added or removed from my ping list freepmail me or post a message here.
I'd MUCH rather have corporations running the show rather than liberal, government bureaucrats.
Maybe Ron Paul could find a home in the Green Party with Cynthia McKinney. Run on the same ticket. MOONBATS UNITE! Sorry Kucinich. ha.
So glad you libertarians are showing up, would you please take Ron Paul, to your party?

I’m not a Ron Paul fan but I agree completely with his statement. We are fast turning into the United Socialist States of America Inc. if not already there.
A well-founded suspicion.
It is not just a suspicion, it is fact, George Soros has contributed to Ron Paul
“The lawmaker said the U.S. is moving toward corporatism.”
Anyone who follows US trade policy, as well as some domestic policies that clearly are made to protect corporations, would find this hard to disagree with.
Agree he does not belong in the GOP - the GOP is a corporation’s party too, if freepers somehow missed, for example, the amnesty/border fence issue and how the GOP, president included, behaved.
WE DON’T NEED YOU..OR HIM.
This person does’nt get to say their piece...?
“Big Media pressures Congress to change the laws as they see fit but that does not mean that the corporations run our foreign or domestic policy to a significant degree.
“
They certainly run trade policy - why is china in the WTO? Why are we allowing major corporations to essentially build china’s industrial base?
Thanks... loved this one... from Russert
MR. RUSSERT: When I looked at your record, you talked about big government and how opposed you are to it, but you seem to have a different attitude about your own congressional district. For example, “Congress decided to send billions of dollars to victims of Hurricane Katrina. Guess how Ron Paul voted. `Is bailing out people” that choose—”that chose to live on the coastline a proper function of the federal government?’ he asks.” And you said no. And yet, this: “Paul’s current district, which includes Galveston and reaches into” the “Brazoria County, draws a substantial amount of federal flood insurance payments.” For your own congressional district.
This is the Houston Chronicle: “Representative Ron Paul has long crusaded against a big central government. But he also” “represented a congressional district that’s consistently among the top in Texas in its reliance on dollars from Washington.
