Could it be because slowly China is reconizing the fact that the Christian faith is making inroads even in that country as well it having opening itself up to the influnces of the west as well?

Merry Christmas to ALL!

Soon to be the only search engine, thanks to Comrade Brin.

:P

Seriously though, this is just another indication that the powers that be in the PRC are quaking in their boots.

Christianity-well, if you consider Nestorianism Christianity-has existed in China for close to thirteen centuries, IIRC, whereas the CCP is a rather modern, unpleasant innovation.

If it comes down to the Christianity versus Marx I'm betting on the fish.

Gun Tso Sun Tan'Gung Haw Sun or Hsin Nien bing Chu Shen Tan to all my Christian friends in China!

Now THERE is a typically over the top reply from a religious bigot!

Merry Christmas, Mr. Scrooge, and remember. God even loves haters like you... though his lov3e is beyond our ken.

God even loves haters like you.

So I'm a hater because I'm NOT hating Google?

OK, whatever you say.

With all the beautiful and fun decorations and all the toys and gifts made by Chinese workers, and their growing affluence, I’m sure they will join in the Christmas celebration themselves.

In fairness to Google, I think all they ever do is color and decorate the word Google for whatever holiday.

I think they times they got criticized was when they failed to do so for a noted holiday. I forget if it was for Easter or the 4th of July or both.

I don't know if this was in response to your "suggestion", but the main FR page by-most-recent-post has a Merry Christmas graphic at the top

Click on the “Merry Christmas” at the top of the China Daily page, for an animated Christmas card that sings in English with a noticeable accent.

The Google page doesn’t say Merry Christmas in so many words, but exactly what else would the decorations on the word mean? Seems like a Christmas greeting me.

Surely you have been following the debate over stores and others have an aversion to saying "Merry Christmas." Or perhaps I should just wish you a happy Sparkle Season.

Come on, there is a certain level of understanding of current events you are supposed to bring with you to this forum.
