Rumor circulating on the Fred08 blog that there is going to be a major "surprise" announcement coming this morning.

Perhaps an NRA endorsement or a major political figure?

Daily polling is just a tool for manipulation of public opinion

Daily polls published in the MSM have McCain running strong.

However, if you were to take a brief poll of the folks here on FR - a mostly conservative, Republican site - I'd put his support around 2-5%. Huckabee's support would be a little stronger, but not much.

My take? The polls have it wrong. They're asking the wrong people, or for the wrong info, or something.

Of course, that's why they have elections. We'll find out in a month or so.

I don’t think that anybody is going to drop out before the caucus next week...unless they’re going to be dead in a few months.

I like Fred, but his campaign is a lost cause. He has no fire left.

Typical formulation by Mitt-worshipping Fred-bashers.

"I like Fred, but he's a tired lazy nobody etc etc etc."

Just another form of slimy attacks.

If Fred drops out it'll most likely be Hunter.

Fred is not dropping out. He has momentum.
The MSM is deliberatley avoiding Fred’s campaign because they are scared.
The MSM has already held the Presidential Draft and they want New York Rudy and New Yorkansas Hillary.
Then 2nd round picks are Romney and Obama.

The MSM is not the selecting force. The people cast the votes. Free will and choice is not what the MSM Presidential Draft is trying to manipulate.
Two car models and two car colors is not a car lot of choices.
Go Fred!

Rumor circulating

Rumors are often used to generate a little interest. Until it’s an official announcement it’s only that, a rumor.

Given the choice between that slightly doddering uncle in the basement and the crazy old aunt in the attic; I’m going downstairs to play a quiet game of chess.

I'm a Thompson supporter and I can tell you that I will not support Huckabee or Romney should Fred drop out.

Ditto.

In your wildest dreams this ain’t gonna happen.

And where are you getting your polling data? I think you ought to do a bit more research before putting your ignorance and bias on public display. Ignorance and bias hand in hand is a pretty ugly thing to behold.

Here Here! FDT is not dropping out ten days before the caucuses. I think he’ll do surprisingly well.

Maybe he saved a bunch of money by switching to Geico.

Maybe he's going to produce a receipt that he is the actual candidate that spent a night at a Holiday Inn Express.

"Free Republicans who support Fred Thompson, who are obviously morons"

As one of the "morons", let me enlighten you: "that dog won't hunt".

Support of the Conservative candidates is not moronic, as opposed to the front-runner/wacko chasers who have favorites to save face and avoid confrontation.

We don't need no steenkin' RINO's to back, and we sure don't need an isolationist Liberal wacko who has more backing from Democrat donors than Republicans.

Lay off the eggnog...

He’s going to announce he’s running

ROFLMAO that is exactly what I was thinking. My bet is that he is going to drop out. He has been coughing a lot and looks older by the minute. So he may be sick.

Fred’s going to drop out is my guess. He’s at (or below) Ron Paul territory in most every major poll.
