Don’t forget that people never mentioned that the Gore people cherry-picked the counties that they wanted recounted...
Of course, that will be in the film as well. /s
A full 19 hours after it began, the nightmarish battle over Duval´s military ballots came to an end. When the canvassing board announced that the ballots of 149 soldiers, sailors and airmen had been disqualified, a pair of jubilant Gore lawyers actually exchanged high-fives for their victory against Americas service personnel.
“A Republican, visibly shaken by this sight, demanded to know how they could celebrate the disenfranchisement of U.S. military personnel risking their lives around the world. One of the Gore lawyers glibly replied: A win´s a win.”
The only recount algore won was the “Kreskin” recount. In that one the ratmedia took ballots that were marked straight rat except for the top line, which was blank, and using Kreskin-like powers of decernment, they “guestimated” that EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE voters MEANT to vote for algore but “forgot.” Yes they actually stretched their imaginations THAT far.
So, they’re finally going to cover the fact that the Florida courts were usurping the powers of the legislative and executive branches?
They pulled every trick in the book and none of them worked. It was a great time to be a FReeper.
I'm willing to bet that "we've done our homework" means "we used Alan Dershowitz's book as our main legal guide."
Yeah. I kinda doubted they had that kind of connections.
the Pacific ?????????
tell me more.........I own the metal boxed Band Of Brothers
and you could not pry my fingers from it.....

Actually, the Secretary of State of Florida certified the election of the Bush electors, the Bush slate of electors gathered in the state capitol on the appointed day and cast their ballots and the Secretary of State of Florida sent the results to Washington while the issue was still in Florida courts. So it actually didn't require court intervention at all - if the Secretary of State stonewalled the SCFLaws then the election of the Bush-Cheney ticket was an accomplished fact.
The reality is that it was the election law of the State of Florida which was broken; it had conflicting requirements to come to a conclusion on a date certain, on one hand, and to "count every vote" on the other hand. The conclusion by a date certain requirement was in place to prevent exactly what Mayor Richard Daley's son came to FL from Chicago to implement - an endless recount with no closure accepted other than the victory, by whatever means, for the Democratic candidate.
Then-president (ugh!) Bill Clinton inadvertently told the truth by complaining that SCOTUS "stopped the voting" in Florida. He intended to say, "stopped the counting" - but counting was only a means to the end of declaring Gore the winner. And declare Gore the winner was exactly what Mr. Daley did when he got off the plane from Chicago the morning after election day. That was highly offensive because he had no authority to know any more about the vote totals in Florida than I did. It was the sum of a bunch of secret ballots, and only the officials in Florida had any way of knowing the results - and the official result was not what Mr. Daley wanted.
I'm a sucker for happy endings...sniff...
noticed a bit of a documentary about Ralph Nader on PBS.
He was being portrayed as the skunk at the party because
many on the left feel votes for him prevented Gore from
winning states like Florida. (One person interviewed,
though, said that Gore deserved to lose because the chump
didn’t even win his home state, and the Dems also didn’t
win Bubba’s home state that time ‘round!)
It was fun to see the libs all moaning about how Ralph
had ruined their chances for success. It also showed how
the likes of Michael Moore supported Nader in ‘00(he would
later support Dean, then Wesley Clark, in ‘04) but by
‘04, Moore was so against the idea of Nader running that he
and Jon Stewart (IIRC) got on their knees during a TV
performance to beg Nader NOT to run!
And here we will also get to see libs complaining,
this time about the “stolen election”. Schadenfreude!
Moaning libs are always fun to see. That means we did something right. This new TV movie is just another cry fest for them.
They will then say, "the electoral college is wrong!" and needs to be gotten rid of, plus "the votes were counted wrong!" Yet surveys have proven them wrong.
>>In addition to insuring that the President would be chosen by the individual states, the Electoral College was also a safeguard against something that many in politics joke about, but few wish to address directly, voter fraud. Much has been made of this, because of the closeness of the election. Interestingly, it always seems to be the democrats who are the worst offenders. The last time there was such an outrage over voter fraud was during the Nixon/Kennedy election. In that election, it was later found that dead people had been registered, and that there were many voters who could not be found, registered at addresses which did not exist. The Daley stronghold of Chicago was particularly notorious for this type of thing.
The Dersh approves of torture and HBO will torture the facts.
produced by Paula Weinstein, who once led the Hollywood Womens Political Committee alongside Barbara Streisand, Jane Fonda and others, which gave more than $6 million to liberal causes
“I think it’s a terrible shame that politics has become show business.” -
— Sydney pollack
Mr. Gore, whose supporters include such directors as Steven Spielberg, Sydney Pollack and Rob Reiner
Pollack has contributed tens of thousands of dollars to Democrats over the years. Some of the recipients were Clinton, Boxer, and California Reps. Barbara Lee and Maxine Waters.
Executive Producer Paula Weinstein, who has given to Sens. Clinton, Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and Jon Tester (D-Mont.), praised Sydney Pollack for being the only director able to deal with the dramatic twists and turns of the story with honesty and truthfulness.
I was also curious about “The Pacific”. Looks good;
Good info! The show is definitely Hollywood sticking its nose into politics again.
Does HBO think anybody will actually want to ‘relive’ those recounts? IIRC, it wasn’t a particularly fun time for either side.
And I still have the mental image of the dope with the glasses on his forehead, intently gazing at a paper ballot while he was hoping to see a dimple in the card for Gork.
20% of the population suffers from BDS.
Will they cover directions given by Democrat operatives on how to reject the military votes that may not have had postmarked dates?
I bought my brother Band of Brothers (at a deep discount) for Christmas.
There is also Netflix.
The programs will be released to home video sooner than later. No need to fund (and be repeatedly subjected to) partisan propaganda like ‘Recount’.
I went on vacation the next day, taking my Mother, FDR (Rat) to see my Daughter and Grand-kiddies in Georgia, sucked with her whining about JEB stealing the election for his Brother.
They believe erroneously that Nader syphoned off all of the Gore votes. The Communist, Socialist, Socialist Workers, and Worker’s World parties combined syphoned off enough votes to deny Gore a victory.
What is to make people believe that the Watermelon Greens (Red on the inside) would’ve voted for Gore over all of the other Socialist/Communist parties or just stayed home (or left the ballot blank there)?
At the end, 3,000 contested military ballots WERE approved by the court but in the end, they were NOT included in Harris’ final vote tally.
Al Gore brags about winning the Popular Vote, he neglects to mention that his win was 0.51% margin, WELL within the margin of error (especially considering absentee ballots were not all tallied, where it would not have changed results in a state AND when one factors in fraudulent votes). The only way to know for sure if Gore won the popular vote would be a district by district NATIONAL recount.
LOL. That's one group whose acronym says it all...
While that was undoubtedly important, it sure didn't hurt that they were arguing the right side of the case. :=)
The Commission had completed their investigation, but, purposely kept it quiet until AFTER the 2004 election.
That dot graph is a trip!
SCOFLA = Scofflaw.
If the lambed over lions and Charlie Wilson can’t make budget, or get into the Top 3 for the debut weekend, who in the world do these producers think is going to be the audience for a paint drier like an election recount?
Eventually they’ll run out of the bankers’ goodwill and quit making this trash when they have to start using their own money. Even so, they won’t have an audience which is — after love of money — their second love. Or maybe I’ve got that reversed. Nah, they love money just a smidge more than they love themselves.
Cash registers and applause. That’s about all they’re after.
recounts, except for the military ballots the rats tried to throw out, in defiance of a federal court order to count military absentee ballots
Please do not post pictures of my harem... it makes some people jealous.
Heres the real story on the florida recount:

Paint drier is right! But on the other hand it may make liberals relive the pain and agony of defeat... and if that’s the case, then it’s okay with me.
