I’m amazed how otherwise conservative, level headed freepers become misty-eyed enviros when it comes to far fetched ethanol/bio/wind/etc. Absent self important pols we should have been building nuke plants these past thirty years as well as exploiting the hundreds of years worth of coal that God gave us to use.

We can use coal, but much of the coal found in the USA contains high amounts of sulfur, which is very expensive to clean up in the exhaust when burned. Coal would be better served for advanced processes to convert it to motor fuels and lubricants.

Yes, that is what I have be lead to believe. That is why I am not in favor of $1 per gallon subsidies & tariffs for ethanol.
