CNN sat on news of torture and abuse under Saddam to keep their Baghdad bureau open.

CNN does what is best for their own agenda. They showed no such restraint on reports critical of US policy.

Apparently she claimed in the e-mail that no matter the “security” nothing could get by without Musharaf’s knowledge and that was her fear.

Here’s the Bio on the guy that the E-Mail was sent to.

He has ties with the Dem’s and is a mouth piece for Bhutto here in the U.S.

An engaging academic, writer and advocate, Mr. Siegel served as Deputy Assistant to President Jimmy Carter, Legislative Assistant to Senator and former Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey (D-MN), Executive Director of the Democratic National Committee under Chairman Robert S. Strauss, and Chief of Staff to Congressman Steve Israel (D-NY). He is often cited as the leading expert on delegate selection procedures in the United States.

Mr. Siegel, who holds a Ph.D. in political science (congressional behavior and political parties), has appeared frequently on CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX as a political analyst and strategist. During the 2000 presidential election, he was the on-air consultant to The Today Show on NBC. During three Democratic National Conventions, Mr. Siegel served as political consultant to Walter Cronkite, acting as his analyst and spotter.

Mr. Siegel was the chief strategist of the Humphrey for President Campaign in 1972, the political director of the Democratic National Convention in 1976 and the Coordinator of the Draft Kennedy movement in 1980. He was an elected at-large member of the Democratic National Committee for more than 10 years and served on three separate Democratic commissions on the presidential nominating process.

For 15 years, Mr. Siegel served on the Board of the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs, chairing the Institute’s party building and election monitoring in Asia. A prominent speechwriter, he has written for Presidents, Vice Presidents, Senators, Congressmen and Corporate Executives as well as notable international dignitaries. So? It’s been found that AQ did it by strapping a bomb to a 1-year-old, so the letter is a moot point.

Bush can enjoy a little break from the “Bush’s fault” rhetoric as Musharraf takes the blame for everything now.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’d be more suspect of terrorists who want the Pak govt overthrown than some conspiracy theory cooked up and based on no evidence.

I think it was more like “spread” the E-Mail around after her death, as Wolf said.

There’s a major rule among security personal, you can never plan for the person you are guarding to do a “stupid move” like was done (sadly) by Bhutto.

If Bush has his fingerprints on this, you know it will ultimately lead to Cheney. But seriously...

Some say Bhuto was pro-west. I have my doubts. True, she was western educated, Harvard and Oxford, first woman admitted to Oxford Union, etc. However, as we all know, college campuses are anything but pro-west. She was very bright, but seemed bent on bringing down Mushariff instead of her proclaimed preserving democracy. She was openly questing for power, not that Mushariff isn’t. However he is an avowed USA ally, and Benazhir seemed comfortable with only Hillary types.

However, her assassination is a tragedy. They tried to whack her when she first arrived back in Pakistan and that was a definite warning. Let Wolfie blame Mushariff. We all know the Taliban and Al Q were behind it.

Did she explain how this squares with nine attempts on Mushy's life?

Besides, what IDIOT, sticks there head out of a sun roof in that situation. She should be on the cover of Evolution Magazine.

Just to let you know, this is not confirmed yet.

Found this snippet on world net daily.

U.S. officials are looking into a report that al-Qaida’s main spokesman has claimed responsibility for Bhutto’s death.

“We terminated the most precious American asset which vowed to defeat (the) mujahadeen,” Mustafa Abu Al-Yazid told Adnkronos International in a phone call from an unknown location.

Al-Yazid is the main al-Qaida commander in Afghanistan. The decision to assassinate Bhutto is believed to have been made by al-Qaida’s No. 2 leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri, according to the news agency.
