The financially and demographically struggling National Council of Churches (NCC) is mulling over a new “Social Creed for the 21st Century” that will succinctly articulate its left-leaning political activism. Many of the NCC’s heterodox officials and activist supporters could not affirm traditional Christian theological creeds. For them, political creeds are the desired alternative.

This organization has been a tool of the globalist, socialist puppet masters for at least 40+ years . . . IIRC.

Socialiists in the courts, in the schools, in Hollywood, in the old media and the churches. Got to give them credit, they keep pushing. But take away the media and they don’t have anything.

Stories like these make me realize why much more conservitive churches are becoming popular, they put the Bible first and believe and accept what it teaches, period.

Even more lost upon the clueless NCC is the disastrous impact on mainline churches by the Social Gospel, as embodied by the 1908 Creed, upon mainline churches. Setting aside the transcendent truths of Christianity, the Social Gospel’s proponents shrank and enervated America ’s once leading religious bodies by promoting materialistic and statist solutions to what are ultimately spiritual problems.

The last paragraph says it all.

Where in the Bible did these church “Leaders” read that the government is supposed to take care of all of the poor’s needs or make sure that the rich did not get too rich?

My reading of the Bible is that the welfare of poor is the duty of individual followers of Christ. Charity is a personal thing. It is not the business of government to redistribute wealth.

The proper first business of the churches is the spiritual salvation of its members and second to minister to the needs of the poor. Neither of these duties should be abrogated to the government.
