DES MOINES - With thousands of undecided voters still up for grabs in the final week before voting begins, the leading presidential contenders yesterday aimed their closing arguments at those still settling on a candidate or just tuning into the most wide-open nomination races in decades.

"Their two-day Christmas break over, most candidates resumed campaigning in Iowa, where Democrats and Republicans will caucus one week from today, and where, like New Hampshire, voters are still weighing the two fields carefully.

Just 38 percent of Republicans and 52 percent of Democrats in Iowa have decided whom to support, the most recent CNN poll indicates, while the rest are either undecided or only leaning toward a candidate and thus open to per suasion."

That would be such sweet justice but I just don’t know. I am convinced that much of the Huckabee surge is because of Mitt and Rudy losing steam because the number of undecideds have been increasing. Fred has had many of his early supporters shift to the undecided column. Those are the ones who must come home for him to win. I think they will. Anyone who is undecided at this point in the game must be pretty disgusted with the front runners not to have jumped on board.

I’m hoping they are smart enough not to let the liberal media sway them to Rudy McRombee. Fred is the only viable Conservative who can unite the base and win in November.

“Home in?” I don’t think I’ve ever heard that expression. Shouldn’t that be “hone in?” Maybe I’m mistaken but considering the declining quality of news these days, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is an error.

That is just the headline. I didn’t make it up. However “Home in” is considered much older than “hone in”.

I disagree as I think Ron Paul could do this better since not only could he united the base but he will win the votes of enough independents to win the election. The Republican ticket must consider the numerous people opposed to the prolonging of the war in Iraq therefore a Paul ticket would be just the thing to unite the base & tap into the vast independents who will be essential to win next November.

What in the world are you talking about? You sound like an anti Paul Leftist! Ron Paul has never “bashed” America. His criticism of the United States foreign policy is not aimed at America but at a specific Leftist nation building clique within the Administration. I would never equate the views of a clique with being representative of the entire nation.
