John McCain's Health
MrArbitrage123

Posted on 12/29/2007 9:05:40 AM PST by MrArbitrage123

I strongly believe that John McCain is covering up Parkinson's Disease.

He doesn't look like the same John McCain of yester- year. I just happened to notice last year and mentioned to my wife that he doesn't at all look healthy and I noticed that every time I see him on camera, if they show his hands, he usually has a rolled up paper or something like that in his hand (I think it's the left) and it looks abnormal as though he is trying to restrain it.

I'm not trying to spread rumors; nobody has come out with any such speculation and of course there is no dishonor in having Parkinson's. I just think that one would be delusional NOT to expect the Democrats to jump on McCain's "state of health" and age if he were the nominee.

Then don't speculate unless you have real medical evidence.

This is one reason that he appeared with his 90-something mother a month or two ago. To quell concerns about his likely longevity.

Great. First, we have the Romney Sleaze Machine and now Huckabee’s getting in on the fun. Another sleazy, scummy, politician and his supporters leaving a trail of filth and slime everywhere they go.

Hadn’t noticed that, though his voice seems more subdued than usual. Still, it’s not his health that worries me.

I noticed that he blinked his eyes a lot during an interview yesterday and his left eye looks smaller than his right eye. I know this sounds "picky" but it's the dame side of his face that he had cancer. (twice if I remember correctly.) I, too worry about his health but 3 Repubs have had cancer.

The Dems could have health issues but would never tell.

I think Hillary has mental health issues!

MrArbitrage123: Yours may be an innocent observation, but it has the earmarks of an ugly rumor with a devious intent. Can it be that you are working for another candidate and are getting nervous about McCain’s rising poll numbers? John McCain is not my first choice at this point, but I find the spreading of unfounded rumors about any candidate—even Democratic candidates—to be out of bounds.

Regardless if the nominee is McCain, Rudy, or Fred the Media will bring up past health concerns.

Rudy and McCain are almost 10 years out from their respective cancers, yet Fred is still only in remission from his, and even his doctors say it is not if it comes back but when. He may have a "treatable" return, but it will still require a course of treatment that will take him out of the loop when he may be needed most. I just hope that time isn't right before a general election when (if he is the nominee) he will be needed the most.

One part of all lymphoma treatments is the need to keep a patient out of the public because the conventional treatments all involve a decrease of the immunity system, at which time the patient is most susceptible to infections. An uncle that has been successfully treated for Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma was out of work for six months because of his immunity problems.

As for McCains hand, I have noticed that for years, and I believe it is due to late effects of the torture he received in Vietnam.

I seem to remember him doing that twenty years ago when I lived in Arizona.

It could be the result of what the Vietcong did to him.
They broke his arm, it had to heal on it’s own.

I believe his arm was badly shattered in Vietnam....so this might be like Bob Dole and the ever-present pen.

Republican voters should seriously consider the physical health of a candidate for President. We all have seen how the job wears on even healthy men. It would not be good for America to have a President constantly fighting health problems. Frankly, if someone’s health is not up to par, they should drop out of the race. I believe McCain and Giuliani have a problem on this issue.

My beloved husband of 42 years has Parkinson’s now, and I have gotten pretty good at recognizing the signs.

Haven’t seen any signs of Parkinson’s in John McCain. One would be able to tell by the way he walks, his posture, and by changes in the appearance of his eyes. Think of how John Paul II looked.

My husband’s Parkinson’s is in the middle stage, and he doesn’t look like John Paul did, at least not yet. But, even in the early stages, you could tell by the changes in his facial expression.

I do not intend to vote for McCain in the primary, by the way. So rest assured I am not posting this to support him in any way. Other things about his personality bother me a whole lot more than his health!

And since you don’t mind speculating and certainly don’t intend to start rumors- I’ll follow your lead and wonder aloud which candidate you’re working for? Romney? Huckabee?

McCain was on O’Reilly this week with Laura Ingraham hosting. I only left it on for 30 seconds or so since that is my maximun toleration of McCain. But, I noticed something weird with one of his eyes. Partially closed giving him an even more sinister look than he normally has.

Give him a break. He’s almost as old as I am, and has been banged up a lot worse. All I see is a guy who gets tired after putting in 80 hour weeks. May be a good thing. I can speculate like anyone else, and my theory that when he used to get tired he would get real, real edgy, explaining his hot temper. As one gets older, you lose that edge. Which can be a good thing. You learn to take a deep breathes.

I believe McCain and Giuliani have a problem on this issue.

They have both been certified by their physicians that they are cured of their respective cancers (yes they could come back, but anyone can get the big "C"), yet Fred Thompsons own physician has said it is not if his cancer will come back, but when. He is still only in remission.

Aside from his Rino leanings (which cancels out any feelings of trust), I’m more concerned about McCain’s age.

The presidency isn’t a cakewalk; you have seen how previous candidates have aged in the face of continuing crises. Even the beloved presidents Roosevelt and Reagan shouldn’t have run for that extra term.

It would seem that before the primaries candidates should submit a certificate of health, duly vetted.

The Islamofascists will take advantage of any weakness they perceive.

Much as I like FRed Thompson on the issues and think he is a good man, I have to agree with you about the health issue there as well. He’s a tough old Tennessee boy, but I think he looks a little tired on the campaign trail, as does Rudy and McCain.

The day may be here soon when we have to rally behind Mitt. One thing is sure, that guy has never had any alcahol, tobacco, drugs, or even a cup of coffee. His health is not even close to being an issue.

Here is a picture of his good arm after he was shot down. His left arm was severely injured as well. Fairly certain he had some leg injuries since the ESCAPAC seat didn't have leg restraints and the A-4 cockpit is tiny.

That also doesn't include what the Vietnamese did to him. Imagine being shackled in a sitting position with your legs out in front of you. Your arms are bound behind your back at the wrists and elbows. Then they start pulling your arms up behind you until your shoulders are dislocated or you start talking.

He has been gimping around ever since, so you may want to cut the guy some slack.

Here is a picture of him on crutches, maybe he is hiding that he has polio, too. /sarc

Indeed they would. We are fortunate to have a strong President provide vigorous leadership in the war against them. I agree with him on many issues and disagree on a few, but America owes much to President Bush. My hope is that an equally strong Republican will assume command on January 20, 2009.
