You sound like a Dave Ramsey person. Your approach to finances are very similar to my wife and I. We’re nearing retirement and expect to be completely debt free when we retire.
I like the Hondas but unfortunately we’re truck people and Honda just doesn’t have the large size trucks we prefer. When we were considering trucks, the decision came down to a new Nissan or a new Toyota. BTW, the Nissan and Toyota dealers were the best to deal with. None of the four corners game. Both offered a new truck at invoice plus $200 and Kelly Blue Book for my old chevy (sight unseen). The Ford dealership was the one playing four corners.

Just encountered his name on this thread and listened to a show of his. He reminds me very much of the late Larry Burkett, whose books I enjoyed for years...

That is our goal as well.
thanks for the correction!
Ramsey has a website.

I don’t know if you’ll find a lot new there since you seem to have absorbed most of what he teaches. Dave’s approach works. My wife and I started Ramsey (slightly modified) about 10 years ago and it has made a real difference. We’ve also taught his class and seen it perform real miracles for those who want to get out of debt.
