The man responsible for shooting 2 people at a Knoxville Hooters Restaurant may have been shot at Western Plaza.
Foot chase ensued and shots were fired. A suspect is at the hospital.
Thanks
was it a wing shot?
They refuse to say and will not update until tomorrow. It happened about 90 minutes ago.
Hum, Western Plaza? Didn’t they have a problem with purse snatchers there a month or so back? I remember KPD set up a huge tower and mobile booth in Krogers parking lot. There’s a lot of places to hide in that area too.
Keep in mind KPD put a dragnet on all of KP from Hooters on in.
Maybe the same guy. Obviously trouble from the word go. He killed an innocent father from Michigan and his pain should be slow and steady.
Waiting for the inevitable “what is a father of eight doing at a Hooters?” question.
Enjoying why he became a father of 8 no doubt.
“Waiting for the inevitable what is a father of eight doing at a Hooters? question.”
Eating so so wings and watching hooters I would surmise.
That’s a lot of ground to cover. Places like Homberg would be easy to hide in. So would right under THP’s nose down at Buckingham also. The guy musta been headed downtown.
I used to ice skate down there as a kid. Very close to Sequoia Hills, and there’s you’re net.
We had a cop-involved shooting last night, in Minneapolis. The perp was pouring shots into an occupied van. The cop was in uniform, working off-duty security. He tells the perp to drop his gun...several times. The perp refuses and gets shot by the cop.
Good shoot, good cop.....
Until....
We find out that the perp is only 17....
Now, the press is all about...”He was only 17!!!”
Morons.
Wow...I didn’t realize there were so many Knoxville Freepers...
That won’t happen here. 15 cars were on the scene and if it’s the killer, he knows his fate.
I nominate you for most horrible joke of the day! I’m jealous.
Or perhaps he was there for the articles. /old Playboy reader excuse.
Call me a guy who could take you to every transmitter in ET. :^)
Just wait, someone will chime in about it without even reading the thread.
I'm in that area about once every two weeks. I remember the old drive in there. Went there as a teenager a few times. I also remember no West Town Mall and Parkside Road was a horse pasture before Goody's bought it. I had family that lived in the last house before Goody's off Lovell Rd.
I lived off Cedar Lane in Inskip for about 4 years as a kid in the 1960's then moved next county north and stayed there LOL. Knoxville isn't what it once was. Age 14 I'd walk from Tennessee Theater at about 9:00pm down to the phone company on Magnolia to ride home with my dad when he got off at midnight. You couldn't pay me to walk that now. Not without carrying anyway. Even Fountain City around Adair has gang markings there now.
Sorry.. I really do hope they get the toothless bastard before he comes down my way
We started out at Rocky Hill and ended up at Lindbergh Forest by 1966. We watched movies at that theatre,I can only remember some Pink Panther stuff. Cheers! :^)
When were you there?
Likely wrong place wrong time. Believe it or not a lot of people eat there and a second location north of there. If he was looking for a show theres a couple of strip clubs a couple miles west of where the killing was. The area the man was killed in is the heart of the resturant business in Knoxville. Added to that it is right beside the interstate.
Hooters??
Exactly! :^)
I don’t think I said I was at Hooters...I said I hope the toothless bastard doesn’t come down my way..
Nah, I know you didn’t say that. That TOOTHLESS bastard is going to rot in Riverbend, Until Ole’ Sparky gets him.
Gotta get him first though before those benefits kick in..
No doubt. Those front four are the worst. (I think Someone has been deputized)
Knoxville police late Sunday night were involved in a shooting with a man who they believe could be the suspect in the Saturday morning fatal shooting at a Hooters restaurant.
According Knoxville Police Department Lt. Jeff Pappas, officers encountered the man near the Green Hills Grille in West Knoxville at 10:33 p.m.
Pappas said officers chased the man behind the Kingston Pike restaurant where the shooting occurred.
Pappas said the suspect was shot and taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
No officers were injured, Pappas said.
One patron was killed and an assistant manager was wounded after a disgruntled customer opened fire at the Hooters restaurant shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday.
The suspect ran off and police have been searching for him since.
I’m hoping it is the guy, (and thanks for posting the play by play). This guy killed an innocent bystander with 8 children. Knoxville is not a place to get leniency.
"Pappas said the suspect was shot and taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center."
Then this...
"The suspect ran off and police have been searching for him since."
Ok...Earth to Knoxnews...
Actually, I posted this after watching live reports from WBIR. Thats why I couldn’t really use anything but that. The local paper may be quite behind.
LOL He ran off last night when he shot the man west of where he was caught tonight. He was taken to UT Hospital tonight about two hours ago when they found him and shot him. He was taken to the hospital in custody IOW. KPD gonna be sitting right outside his door till he gets out of UT. From there he goes downtown a few minutes then to the Maloneyville Road Hotel as a registered guest of the county :>} Too bad it isn’t the old one.
I just read it and you are correct sir. Phhhhttt!

There was a bit of sarco/disbelief from reigns that applies.
Nope and I hope there is a certain lawyer or two the people of this state don't have to pay for either. They'll make a career of his defense. I just posted the papers account because it actually said where he was at. Put him in the same cell with the freaks from East Knoxville that did the car jacking/murder.
Well the paper never has quite recovered from Cagle leaving. LOL
I agree but lets leave that one alone for now. I don’t have the energy for the rage required to go there.
You are exactly right. It was a case of editing that will not be there tomorrow. They edited the story and did not delete all of the old story. Weak to say the least.
They cleaned it up...

“Likely wrong place wrong time. Believe it or not a lot of people eat there and a second location north of there. If he was looking for a show theres a couple of strip clubs a couple miles west of where the killing was.”
Its a sad event.
IMO Hooters isn’t a great place to go. Mostly because the food is bad and the service stinks. A lotta guys must not care because they are usually packed.
I avoid the area it happened at myself. Good part of town just horrible traffic. I go out about once a month for good food at a decent price myself. A local family resturant chain on the north side of town {Shoneys} is my favorite. If the guy was just passing through which it sounds like he just picked the wrong place wrong time.
One note the time of evening this may have been the only open resturant other than fast food {burgers} at 1:00 am that was open. The other places would have done shut down.
Suspect is dead per knox news. Still unconfirmed if it was him but it evidently was a local. It sounds like they got their man though. http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2007/dec/31/police-officers-involved-shooting-man-may-be-suspe/
Wow your up early. The fingerprints match. Good jod citizens and KPD.
Sad and harsh. No further comment.
