Today, we put him in the spotlight again by naming Gen Petraeus as The Sunday Telegraph's Person of the Year, a new annual accolade to recognise outstanding individual achievement.

He has been the man behind the US troop surge over the past 10 months, the last-ditch effort to end Iraq's escalating civil war by putting an extra 28,000 American troops on the ground.

TIME must realize how they botched their choice this year. Person/Lifeform of the Year doesn't have to be someone we like, but someone should tell Time it's not a sin to choose someone who is actually helping American interests, either.

The big news--the titanic news--is that it's impossible to deny we're winning in Iraq. Petraeus is the posterboy for that.

My choice would have been just as controversial with FReepers, though: President George W. Bush

Oddly enough, we haven't seen Pelosi and Reid regularly praising their nation's soldiers' success in this war. It might make one think they're not all that happy that our brave men and women are winning. And we wouldn't want people to get that idea, now would we? After all, even though they disagree with the policy, they still support the tr---

Sorry, that's as far as I could go with that.

Time, Pelosi, Reid, the New York Slimes, LA Slimes, et al, have absolutely no shame whatsoever. Like a house cat that turns over a potted plant and makes a mess, they will walk away as if none of their previous actions ever occurred....

I’m waiting for CNN’s Baba Starr and the WaPo’s Robin “Can I Be So Wrong” Wright to start noticing the trend.

HClinton called General Petraeus a liar, right to his face.
I’m never going to forget that one...

"TIME must realize how they botched their choice this year."

Yep, by being so clearly dishonest and biased, they lost future legitimacy.
