My father is a real Robbie Burns Day afficianado. He’s been invited many times to Glasgow University, his alma mater, to preside over the haggis!!

Glad you liked that joke — it’s a keyboard killer.

I’ve been to Glasgow, Edinburgh, and points in between, but never to the far north. Scotland has the most beautiful hills on earth.

What I loved most was motoring around the hairpin turns among the mist-shrouded hills on a weekday when there was hardly another car on the road, when suddenly a lake would come into view, and often a lone bagpiper out there skirling and echoing, perhaps hoping for a wee donation. It’s otherworldly.
