Haditha Charges Against Another Marine Reduced(More Good News!)

Charges against another U.S. Marine caught up in the political fallout from an ambush in Haditha, Iraq, in 2005 have been reduced, officials have confirmed.

Authorities at Camp Pendleton, Calif., said in a statement that the remaining charges against Staff Sgt. Frank Wuterich, who was accused of leading the campaign that resulted in the deaths of two dozen Iraqis, are "voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault" and others.

But Lt. Gen. Samuel Helland, the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Central commander, "dismissed the charges of unpremeditated murder, soliciting another to commit an offense and false official statement," according to a Reuters report.

Eight Marines originally were accused in the case, in which they were assigned to clear suspected terrorists from a series of buildings in Haditha after a Marine convoy was hit by a roadside bomb.

Prediction: The Marines will be exonerated.

As I said two years ago, no autopsy, no case.

These Iraqis were probably killed in crossfire and/or by the bad guys before they "bugged out."

I would like to see the prosecutors in this case all jailed, for the next 30 or 40 years.

Just remember Lt. Pantano who faced murder charges for allegedly murdering an Iraqi and was exonerated. I predict the same will happen with this Marine. Only those of us who have been in combat and in these situations is aware of the likelihood of what probably happened. As I said earlier, these Iraqis were probably killed by crossfire and/or by the bad guys on their way out the back door. All we can do is continue to keep this Marine & all Marines & Soldiers in our prayers.

Kelly

I agree. And thank you for your service.

Again, I repeat: in a just world the prosecutors themselves would be facing very long prison terms. With lots of hard labor and many long hours each day making little rocks out of big rocks.

Along with that, Murtha should be leg chained to those idiots as they enter the prison population.
