Caribou Coffee
Claim: An Islamic bank is the majority owner of the Caribou Coffee chain.
Status: True
Example: [Collected on the Internet, 2002]
As you will see from the links below, Caribou Coffee is owned 87.8% by the First Islamic Investment Bank which, among other things has the following philosophy: "Above all, ensuring that all activities conform to Islamic Shari'ah" The chairman of their Shari'ah supervisory board is:
Dr. Yusuf Abdullah Al-Qaradawi Chairman, Seerah & Sunnah Center, Qatar University; Professor, Faculty of Shari'ah, Qatar University.
As you will see from the links below he is also on the supervisory board of "Union for Good," which is a charitable organization to support Palestinians. Nothing wrong with a charity to help Palestinians, but here is a quote from the Union for Good web site:
"The Al-Aqsa Intifada is the latest of a long line of affliction faced by the people of Palestine. Its ancestry dates back to the massacre of innocent men, women and children in villages such as Deir Yaseen and the illegal occupation of Palestine in 1948."

And here's the best part for me: You call or order online. They roast the beans the next business day and ship them out the next day. Now that is fresh.
Most Americans have never had a truly fresh cup o' coffee. Give them a shot. You'll love it.
Whatever you decide, and I sure believe that 4 years is an excellent, generous, patriotic and wonderful contribution of your hard work and time spent in danger, but it is time to move on ..... God bless you, girl!
We can never repay all of you who give so much for US .. whether on the battlefield or in the critical roles of supporting our troops.
And ... just think how much fun you’ll have shopping for detonation produce ... huh? ;)
Thanks for posting this article, STARWISE. The credibility of snopes.com has been questioned, several replies ago, but for them to print this info, with their liberal slant and usual “soft peddling” with regard to terrorism, had to “torque” them, as you said.
Whenever I check something out at snopes, I trust the information I find there, for the most part. Sometimes reading between the lines of the liberal mumbo jumbo is necessary, but for the most part they print the facts.
I will avoid Caribou Coffee. Thanks!
Thanks for the link. I’ll check it out.
Yup. I won’t buy their coffee. Ever.
Whayt’s Caribou coffee, ground caribou poop, never heard of it.

There are a load of schools, businesses and doctors in my location.
"For our children, the quality of Islamic education depends essentially on the cooperative effort from three important institutions: home, school, and community. The greater the degree of Islamization of these three environments, the stronger our children's Islamic personality will be. LUA prepares every child to take his/her place as a productive citizen of this great land. In order to maintain his/her Islamic identity, every child at LUA must realize that "America is where I live; Islam is how I live; and Muslim is who I am."
This should read, "America is where I live; American is how I live; and American is who I am."
10% of Citibank is owned by the Arabs. Saudi Prince Waleed bin Talal is the largest shareholder on Citibank in the world.
roger that. I thought the emphasis may have been on “this” if you catch me.
Thanks. I seem to remember Caribou was bought to take business away from Starbucks whose founder supports Israel.
Yep....can’t get a ham sammich at Caribou.....
thanks for the ping...though I’m about a day late, I see.
Yeah. I just saw a package, yesterday, in a "Dollar Tree" store. Looked like two for a buck...I was tempted to throw a buck away, just to find out how much "coffee" there was to it.
[as I was relateing on some earlier threads, I'm in the coffee roasting biz myself, albeit in a relatively small way]
I think Starbucks sucks too. At Milwaukee’s Mitchell airport they kind of forced out a really good mom and pop place that had good coffee, airport employee discounts and a buy ten get one free card. I don’t know if it is a nation wide chain, but Stone Creek coffee is great, also Berres Brothers.
