Howdy everyone!!

Happy New Year! Goodbye 2007, hello 2008!

The future is finally here and so are the primaries. The good news is that the Republican hopefuls are now falling all over each other trying to claim that they are more conservative and more righteous than thou. Even the RINOs. Some are even claiming to be the next Ronald Reagan, God rest his soul, but there is no Ronald Reagan clone. Never will be.

It's refreshing, though, that they all now recognize that a Republican candidate must be a pro life and liberty conservative to get the nomination. Even Giuliani is now claiming to be conservative. Yesterday, I saw Congressman David Dreier claiming that Giuliani is the next Ronald Reagan. Imagine that. He says Giuliani was never really pro choice. Oh, yeah? Well maybe Dreier should play back some of Giuliani's speeches to his Planned Parenthood buddies.

So, we have the RudyMcRomney Hucksters all claiming to be the true conservative in the race, despite their records and despite their prior words and deeds. Lots of flip flopping, spinning and outright lying going on. I'm shocked! But the successful candidate must convince the Republican primary voter that he is pro life, family, marriage, gun, individual liberty, constructionist judges, defense, security, sovereignty, borders, fiscal restraint, small government, etc, even though their records may prove otherwise.

What we're looking for is a reliably consistent conservative with a proven track record that we can trust and count on to actually GOVERN as a conservative.

Words matter, but deeds matter even more. We don't have to worry so much if our chosen candidate has a 100% pro-life voting record, is demonstratively strong on national security, national defense, border security, small government, federalism, constructionist judges and is fiscally conservative. A consistent conservative is most likely to govern consistently conservative while a RINO will no doubt be all over the board. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of compassionate conservatism and RINOism. I'm longing for a hard as nails, no nonsense, honest to God conservative!

The RINOS can spin and lie about themselves, their past and each other, and brag about how conservative they are, but they cannot run away from their anti-conservative records and past deeds. The consistently conservative candidates don't have to spin. Just allow their records to speak for them and work on getting their message out there and making themselves known to the voters.

And this is where the grassroots conservatives come in. In the beginning of this race for the White House, John McCain was anointed by the media to be the Republican nominee. Unfortunately for him, the grassroots balked at the idea of this insanity.

Next up, Rudy Giuliani. The moderates all claimed this social liberal as their own and proclaimed that his actions on 9/11 made him the ONLY Republican that could beat Hillary. Again the grassroots balked. And after leading in the polls for many months during which we grassroots conservative got his true liberal record out before the voting public, his support crumbled.

And now we have two religiously devout candidates, Romney and Huckabee, each trying to claim the Reagan mantle, despite their obviously non-conservative records as governors of their respective states. Romney has done a total flip flop and remake of his ENTIRE political and personal philosophy. Trustworthy consistent conservative? Hardly.

And Huckabee, as righteous and likable as he is, unfortunately has some serious problems on the tax and spend side, and on his weaknesses on border security and foreign policy.

The RudyMcRomney Hucksters are definitely not what we need. Let them spin and attack each other. The grassroots should concentrate on the consistent conservatives and help them get their message out and help them gain national exposure. We need a strong no nonsense, pro life, liberty, family, God and country conservative to lead the nation. Out of the current field, only Thompson and Hunter fit the bill.

IMHO.

Thank you and God bless you all.

the Republican hopefuls are now falling all over each other trying to claim that they are more conservative and more righteous than thou.

They are running around now, singing, "I saw the light".

But, as soon as the election is over, Selective Memory Lapse Syndrome will set it. McCain is already showing signs of it by his recent advocation: "I never supported amnesty." Huhhhh????? Johnny!!!!

The only decent thing I could see coming out of anyone else getting the nomination is to avoid the bloodbath around here if it came to a show down between the two. Happy New Year and Good Luck!!!
