Milton Friedman:

There is one basic underlying fallacy in this whole set of socialistic welfare measures: that it is possible to do good with other people's money.

This falicy is due to two fundamental flaws. First, if I want to do good with other people's money, I first have to take it away from them. That means violence and coercion lies at the base of the welfare system. Second, very few people spend other people's money as carefully as they spend their own.

The basis of being free. No truer words ever spoken.

Vote it up so that it gets more play. This moonbat (Klein) needs a good smackdown.

Second, very few people spend other people's money as carefully as they spend their own.

Over the years, politicians, especially democrats, have come to view a large percentage of my income as "their own."

Awesome set of clips. Freidman was capable of clearly explaining the workings and benefits of capitalism in terms everyone can understand. His work should be required reading in ecomonics classes.

I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.

Friedman was a great man. His memory should not be soiled by pitting him against a moonbat. Gob bless you wherever you are Mr. Friedman. This nation misses you and needs more folks like you.

The chick in the video is absolutely insane. She should visit China for a while, then come back and tell us about her experiences.
