I know. It is really no suprise. I am only surprised at the BUSH ADMINSTRATION and their abject naivete, which is every bit as bad as that of the CLINTON ADMINISTRATION.Hey, it's the corrupt "Two-Party Cartel". All one big bunch of nitwits. And it ain't gonna get better with this next group of cartel phonies.

Giving them some credit over the Clintonoids, they were better from 2001 to about mid 2005, IMHO.

Remember that the Korean test shot was done with a facility (cave) designed by the Russians to conceal fallout (baffles).

Sigh. Two things are certain.
One, this hot issue which could eventually unfold into a horrendous military attack--perhaps involving hundreds of thousands of Japanese, South Koreans and Americans (US military/civlians stationed over here), is being managed by abject and unqualifiable appeasement out of the bowels of career State Department.
And two,
This thread by far will be overtaken by the BRITNEY SPEARS thread on FR running right now.

"WHAT IS WRONG WITH THOSE PEOPLE in our nation's capital!!??"
Their really important constituents (moneyed importers, merchants,...) have warned them to avoid doing anything that might drive the price of oil (freight fuel) further up or the dollar further down. The new puppets are lined up for our celebrity worship...er, voting.

And IMO, N. Korean moves will be coordinated with those of Iran's thousands of clerics (using Ahmadinejad as a frontman, of course). ...and probably behind the scenes with China, maybe Russia and maybe others.

We're like-minded in having noticed that increasing trend. And it has.

PING... Important news about North Korea...
To: familyop; AmericanInTokyo
In the mean time, rising oil price and Chinese inflation are adding more burden on N. Korea. Oil accounts for 26% of their total import. Rising cosumer price in China also make Chinese goods more expensive to N. Koreans. Most of consumer goods in N. Korea are imports from China.
As bubble won't last forever, so would N. Korean regime.
Those playing games using N. Korea will pay dearly in the end.

I am getting really sick and tired of this stupid game. Why don't we cut off any shipment of any thing to N Korea and see what happens, instead to play this stupid chicken shit game for so many years!
Tighten the screw, get them on their knees and finish the job as intended!

...agreed. And for now, military actions would likely cause more short-term hardships. If we wait, though, the hardships could be much worse in the near future. Imagine the effects on oil prices, of announcements that Iran, Syria and other, similar nations have nuclear weapons. ...or the economic effects of a nuclear exchange started by a nation like Iran.

We were doing that. For awhile.
Then President Bush and Secretary Rice went all "legacy" on us at the last moment. It sure gave Kim a good breather.

North Korea failed to fully account for its nuclear weapons programme or answer U.S. suspicions that it has secretly tried to enrich uranium for weapons. It was supposed to have made the declaration by the end of 2007They have no insentive to comply, none.Mp>All they have to do is watch the U.S. news.
The administration has pulled away from confrontation with Iran and offered N. K respect. This shows weakness, couple this wit the fact that iowa gave us hussein obama and huckabee as the possible next gov'ts of the U.S. .....who in the world should be afraid of those two? ( hint...the U.S. population, the rest of the world has nothing to fear from the U.S. lead by either of them! )
