One of the factors contributing to Arab Civilization was how they would usurp, assimilate the inventions, advances, discoveries of those societies they conquered, into, as their own.
As a matter of historical record, the system, societal convention known as "Arab numerals", you, we all speak of, has been traced back, was invented in, India.
I was an Arabic linguist for 6 years in USAF. I’ve taken more courses in college in the last couple of years.
I’m now working on flash Arabic language activities.
Read your about page...should’ve read it before posting earlier, lol!
Whenever I tell people I’m taking Russian AND Arabic they look at me like I’m crazy because Arabic is regarded as being ‘hard’ because of the weird alphabet, and they always ask “Why??” From now on my answer’s gonna be “So in the near future you won’t have to!”
Thanks for the FReepmail btw. My prof gave us some websites too. Do you know of any good sites for Arabic translation? Like BabelFish except for Arabic.
thanks for your concern
Islam is nothing more than a cancer of the mentality.
One of the things I noticed many years ago when I first worked for a very large, Fortune 500, corporation, was that there were many similarities between such corporations and the large bureaucracies of the federal government. When I worked for the government I imagined that the private sector would be vastly different, based on being young and absorbing free market theory and having spent much of my life around Washington, D.C. so as to be able to observe the federal government. There is indeed, thank Heavan, a large private, free market sector. But being inside a huge conglomerate that has long since matured past the entrepreneurial stage is as much like big government as it is like the growth component of the entrepreneurial private sector.
An interesting read for when you need a break from politics
