PHILADELPHIA POLICE have charged a suspect in the horrifying case of Edna, the little brown dog held for ransom in a telephoned extortion attempt last fall. The accused, a 15-year-old Nicetown boy, was arrested and taken into custody in the early morning of Dec. 30. Because he is a juvenile, his name is being withheld by police.
He faces felony charges of extortion, criminal conspiracy and criminal mischief, in addition to charges of harassment and terroristic threats.

Almost afraid to ask but this is the second report I’ve seen; since arrest; but no mention of dog; or perhaps I missed it?
What sort of monsters are we raising?

As for the demon kid in this case I think a good long stay in a juvenile jail would be much better. His mother wasn't able to keep control of him before so why let him out?
I hope the kid’s father isn’t some high powered political name, and tries to cover up what his son, a (possible) future serial killer did to the helpless little dog.
Hmmm you never know ..do you? I hope not too! I have a big problem with animal abusers. And parents who are in denial about what their children do. I don’t think a parent ought to cover it up if a child kills a dog or any animal. Doesn’t show a good example to the child or say much about the parent IMHO.
This is so painful and sickening. Obviously, 'we' are raising. . .breeding. . .creating a new generation of monster beings. Think the first DNA changes (so to speak . . .) began appearing about ten to fifteen years ago. They were few in numbers; and the prediction was then; they would be many more coming along. And so it is; that they are indeed increasing in number.
Even the prisons; with their usual hard-core criminals are challenged by this new breed of sociopathic/psychopathic inmate.
And the rest of our population; is definitely challenged by the threat they present as well.
As for Edna; heartbreaking to contemplate her fate. I feel so very sorry for her owner who probably cannot stop contemplating, what happened to her.

I was off-handedly refering to a young man who cruely and viciously abused a little dog in Arkansas, when his father was Governor. The father covered it up and the young man went scott free, with no retribution.
IMHO, if someone deliberately injures or harms an animal , they should have to pay the full penalty as written in law - no matter who their parents are.
Serial killers will almost all tell you that they started out their life of crime by torturing and abusing (even killing) animals.

Sad as the situation is, I’m happy to see the dedicated police work that has brought the investigation this far. Obviously the case is being taken seriously, as it should.
Most of us, can fill in the blanks; but would like to see more, in the black and white of it - shared. Every day, a tax-supported Liberal shares the latest. We learn that 'happiness, makes for a healthier individual'; 'fast food' contains fat(!) We learn that physical inactivity leads to weight gain. . .that 'tall people can change ceiling lights more easily' (this study, however, may not yet be ready for publication. . .)
With a daily glut of the ad nauseum and ad obvious - you might think we would catch something that is socially redeeming and meaningful.
Perhaps; like the Mother, who refuses to admit her son's guilt; so too, many of the Libs, cannot admit that Liberalism - it's root and threads - has and continues to; redefine America in the 'worst way'.
(As the Libs blame Bush, for every problem; I tend to - more accurately, of course - blame a Liberal for any and all problems our Country faces.) And so. . .
. . .whether on the 'streets'; in our schools; work place and/or Legislature; or just the latest, from a Hollywood-elite'; one is guaranteed to find a Reason-challenged Liberal making his contribution to facilitate change - facilitate cultural degradation, in America. Liberalism is both 'chicken and egg' on a disastrous slippery slope.

More specifically, to your observation here; am inclined to believe that for most of these 'kids'; it IS too late. Think they belong in jail; and that a whole bunch of keys; need to be thrown away. . .
