Calif. Mountains Under 5 Feet of Snow(And not a word from Al Bore! LOL)

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- A dangerous layer of heavy snow covered the Northern California mountains and a levee break flooded hundreds of homes in Nevada on Saturday as a major storm continued pummeling the West Coast.

Thousands of homes and businesses had been blacked out in California, Oregon and Washington and thousands of residents had been told to leave their homes in mudslide-prone areas of Southern California.

Avalanche warnings were posted for the backcountry of the central Sierra Nevada and flash flood warnings were in effect for many areas of Southern California, where large swaths of hillsides had been denuded by the fall's wildfires.

Remote sensors and ski areas in the high Sierra Nevada had recorded up to 5 feet since Friday morning, and the west side of the Lake Tahoe Basin already had 4 to 5 feet by Friday night, the National Weather Service office in Reno, Nev., said Saturday.

As much as 10 feet of snow was possible in the Sierra by Sunday. "Attempting to travel in the Sierra will put your life at risk," the weather service warned.

East of the Sierra in Nevada's Lyon County, a levee broke early Saturday along an agricultural canal, spilling water as much as 3 feet deep into the town of Fernley and stranding about 3,500 people, authorities said.

Didn't you get the memo?

GLOBAL WARMING is sooooooo last-year.

The current mantra is "climate change".

Gee, they left my name off the distribution list.

Makes sense = redefining stuff and taking away the WARMING part helps them to make everything into a CLIMATE CHANGE problem.

As Michael Crichton explained in State of Fear, that’s why the prefered term is now CATASROPHIC CLIMATE CHANGE. Record cold days and snowfall undermined the whole warming thing. Now either way they can blame it on the nasty humans.

I still think it's too specific. What if there is no climate change? Better switch to the more ambiguous IMPERFECT WEATHER.

“california mountains under five feet of snow”

dontcha know that al gore knows what he’s talking about and that the snow is just a clue to global warming which causes climate change and that we’re all going to die if the democrats don’t raise taxes and that the earth needs the special brand of social justice that the democrats can give and that the sun will shine again if the democrats hold all power and can’t we all just get along and worship algore and give him free reign over our lives because he loves us and loves humanity as a loving daddy loves his children and isn’t it only justice that oil companies have their profits confiscated by hillary! (oh praise to heaven at the mention of her name) and only justice that all pharmaceutical companies have all of their assets confiscated and all the workers and scientists who work there become the slaves of the proletariat? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm???

“What about GLOBAL WARMING?”

It never has really been about global warming, global climate change, or even global cooling.
It is all about blaming humans for EVERYTHING, then
imposing taxes,(world) government controls, and subjugation of the population all in the name of “Is’s for the Children”, or some other moronic nonsense. Al Goreon is just a simple whited tool or figurehead in the scheme, but he has gotten damn rich from it.

Yes, being TAXED will solve the problem of global warming, er climate change ... yup! Problem gone when you wallet is LIGHTER. Unfortunately weather changes happen all the time but to tax someone for it is ridiculous.

It is a theory that cannot be falsified. For Marxists, it is the second coming (after the brilliant Red Revolution of 1917). If we can just drastically reduce our CO2 generation, we will never suffer again from drought, heat, cold, hurricanes, tornadoes, forest fires, earthquakes, floods, plagues, mudslides, erosion, loss of coral reefs, pollution, extinction of living things, tsunamis, high winds, insufficient snow for skiing, loss of glaciers, drowning polar bears, insect infestations, loss of fisheries, ...

If you ever wanted to visit Yosemite, next spring would be the time to do it. Waterfalls will be spectacular with all the snowmelt.

The Sierras have had below normal snowfall for several years now. Hope this is a trend of normalization. It will help the CA water situation enormously.

The beauty of the ‘Global Warming’ scam is that’s always hot somewhere on the Earth. If your a “Global Scam Artist” you can sell you bogus paper (what’s the carbon footprint on that) year round. Right now sales are ‘hot’ in South America, South Africa and Australia where Summer is just really getting started. In 6 months they’ll be back here scamming away.

Well, why not go all the way and claim that WEATHER itself is the consequence of human action? Then when things are wet and windy, we could say that it was bad because we humans were doing bad things.

When the weather is just wonderful, we can tell people that it’s because humans did the right thing for a while (but don’t get used to it, some human will mess up and the weather will get bad again).

Once we establish this, we can appoint someone to act as the intermediary between us and the weather, someone who understands what the weather wants, and can tell us humans what to do to get good weather, good crops, easy fishing, all of the weather related stuff.

That will make it easier for the government to restrict our energy uses and options, tell us how cold our houses must be, and how far we’re allowed to live from work.

I don’t know if it would work- has this ever been tried before?

And if these bad things continue, merely reducing CO2 further, and moving factories to China and Russia will fix things toot sweet.

Well, they must be getting my snow.
Last few years for the season here:

2006-07 - 76.5”
2005-06 - 50.6”
2004-05 - 117.9”
2003-04 - 91.2”
2002-03 - 95.7”

This year so far? 19 inches. Poop! And it’s 50 degrees right now and 60 the next two days. Happens most years, though. Hoping for a lot more snow, though.
