May or may not be there.

Mom sold my car when I was away at college. Came home one weekend and asked where it was, she said, "It's gone".

At a party the other week I had to lightly disipline my 10-year old. One of the folks at the party said something like “Well look at that - a Dad being a Dad”.

HAHAHA. True enough. I don’t ever recall being quite so spoiled expecting such privalege at a young age. It’s hard to build incentives in the home to earn privaleges when there friends are automatically granted them, mostly because Mom and Dad are leaving the teenage kids home with X-Box as the babysitter.

Check his “Myspace” too, you can find out what drugs they are using and who they are bedding!

My son does FaceBook, not MySpace.

And we took him for a surprise drug test a couple of months ago after a few questions arose about certain companions.

TG he passed with flying colors.

My dad sold my brother’s first car because my brother was caught drinking. This was in the early 60s when DWI wasn’t considered a big deal by most people. My brother didn’t really learn a lesson from it, continued to drink and drive for years after he was an adult before he quit drinking. I still think it was a great idea, and at least it kept him off the road a couple more years. Even though my brother didn’t learn his lesson, I am sure most kids would learn their lesson- and there was five of us kids and he was the only one that ever had DWI issues so we learned the lesson even if my brother didn’t.

My Mom wanted one of her three sons to become carpenters and build her a house. The first two went on to other things so it was up to me but I wanted to be a mechanic and build HOT RODs so she bought me a Model A that didn’t run and said it was mine if I fixed it.It was 47 or 48 and I was 16

It had a stripped timing gear so I replaced it and while I was timing it I broke my nose REAL GOOD. I painted the drivers door in black and white checkerboard with my full name above the door. And of course this is how NASCAR was born...

Well well well, so that’s where Nascar started.

:D So, I guess no one built her a house???

Would never have happened when I was 19—back then a nineteen-year old could legally buy liquor.

Amen! I thank my Dad quite often for two things:

1. Raising me to THINK for myself.

2. Caring enough to bust his butt to get his education while working two jobs and various apprenticeships and getting us OUT of the Hellhole that was/is Milwaukee, WI.

I really don’t think my sister and I would’ve stood a chance in Life, had he not cared enough to give us those two things. :)

The meanest Mom on earth probably saved her son’s life, or one of her friends life.. Congrats to the Meanest Mom for courage and wisdom.

I’ll say! I had my own car, bought (and insured) with my own money at 19. Before that I drove the family’s Dodge Caravan, and pretty much just to college and work.
