presidential hopeful Ron Paul is to be honored by grassroots activists as the first Civil Rights leader of the 21st Century.
FreeAtLast2008.com - Ron Paul For President is a new website designed to generate a 10 million dollar plus cash infusion for Pauls campaign along with nationwide marches to honor Dr. Paul and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Many of Ron Pauls supporters consider him the first Civil Rights leader of the 21st Century for his tireless defense of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Paul voted against the Patriot Act and has made the defense of liberty a central theme in his campaign.

Didn’t know the Hitler youth handed out any civil rights awards.
Go figure.

When oh when will this end!
He can get all the awards and Nobel prizes he wants just so long as he does not become President.
Have you ever considered just IGNORING him? Has anyone ever suggested not wrestling with a pig because the pig likes it and you just get dirty? C’mon - you’re just feeding the beast.
The prize trophy could be a framed copy of his newsletter about MLK.
“Dunno about the source for this article.”
It would appear some follower of his set up a cheesy, amatuer looking website. This is non-news. Nobody is honoring him as a civil rights leader. This is likely just a really lame attempt at cover for the recent Stormfront association.

Sounds like Ron Paul is giving himself a civil rights Nobel prize. Hey, Algore got one for weather, right?
Ron co-sponsored this one. He’s too busy pandering to be racist.

“lame attempt at cover”
You might be on to something there.
The forum comments are fun.
Ron Who?
That’s as insulting as inviting Ahd-Mini-Dumb to speak at Cornell University.

If several months ago Don Black would have walked up to me and shook my hand, I wouldn't know his personal beliefs from the gum that's underneath my shoes.
So I don't understand why the photo continues to be posted here, especially on a candidate who is unlikely to win the GOP nomination and FReepers won't have to worry about soon anyway.
A good friend, that I respect supports Duncan Hunter. Good think because if you were the only supporter of his that I had experience with, I would have never even checked him out.
think = thing
They are terrified of his ideas. The electorate might start demanding that they talk about things like limited government, property rights, emminent domain, debt, taxes, privacy, social security, US sovereignty, homeschooling, the second amendment, the rest of the amendments and foreign policy.
I woulda expected this from Scrappleface, but not USA Today.
USA Daily != USA Today
Oh please submit a complete list of Pauls ideas - do include making drugs legal, and his 9-11 conspiracy theories, and the tricky way he introduces earmark spending then votes against it, and most of all his love of Wild Texas Shrimp and the Houston Bus system.
The source for your article is a RP support site.
But, will he be the Ross Perot of 2008, helping another Clinton get into the White House?
That is my concern as I dread the thought of Hillary (or another Dem) winning and then
- severely impeding the war against terrorists,
- appointing 3 or 4 liberals to the Supreme Court,
- massively building up/enlarging entitlement programs & the debt (beyond the damage already done by both parties),
- increasing taxes, thereby handicapping economic growth and
- returning to the Clinton days when FBI files, the IRS, and other branches of the govt were turned into weapons against the Clintons' opponents.
He has no 9-11 conspiracy theories, and has stated that emphatically many times.
Stop spreading false information.
January 21st.
“If the framers of the Consisution were somehow to come back , Ron Paul is one possibly only three Congress that they’d even talk to.”- Dr. Walter E. Williams
How many times Has Ron Paul appeared on the Alex Jones show?
Has any funds transferred between them?
Thanks. I appreciate people who clarify source material.
Yea Riiiiight. Ron Paul totally believes that America was an innocent victim on 9-11. Sure, he does. Keep drinking that kool aide.

I listed some of his prominent ones. Perhaps you weren’t reading closely. Of course people like you can pick tiny details and exaggerate them to where you think it is a main campaign theme. Lets see. He is against the WOD. Guess what? So are lots of Americans. Many see it as an expensive and wasteful endeavor that produces little results. One that discriminates disproportionately against African Americans. His 9-11 conspiracy theories. He said that we were attacked because Arabs hate us. Guess what? Its true. They do hate us. And we have done lots of things in their corner of the world to make them hate us. He got earmarks for the constituents in his district. Guess what? Every other congressman and senator did too. Of course, he does it far, far less than every other congressman or senator. He even earned a 95% rating from the the pork watchdog, the Citizens Against Government Waste. He has consistently voted against more wasteful spending than anyone in congress.
You can’t attack his record or ideology as a whole, so you pick a tiny detail and blow it out of proportion. How Clintonesque.
The Paul bashers don't want to read.
There is no point in using logic on them either.
‘The Paul bashers don’t want to read.

ROTFL! Ron Paul and Logic....oh my, thats the funniest thing I’ve seen posted here at FR in weeks!
Thanks!
He is a flaming racist crackpot and you and the other flaming Libs who support him are just as crazy. Just go away already!!!!!!

So, the campaign makes a website and declares their own candidate a civil rights leader, now that is funny.
I think I’ll declare myself the greatest chef in the world, heck, I’ll even make a website saying it is so.
This is almost as bad as the news letter issue.
“RP support site”
Someone suggested that up thread. Sounds like they are desperate, if so.
Ping for another laugh, you have to get past the title to the meat of the article, it is basically a self declaration.
Begging your pardon, but in 20 years of scrutiny as a GOP congressman, he has never said or done anything racist. Nobody even suggests that he did. On the contrary, his writings and speeches show him to be a defender of minority rights.
People here call him a neo-nazi, but his good friend and campaign manager is jewish. He regularly contributes articles to the Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, who holds him in the highest esteem. Jews4RonPaul is a large group of grassroots activists who formed to defend him againt the racist claims of others. Does that sound like a racist?
He took responsibility for the newsletter articles in 2001, stating that he had not written them, but that he was in the wrong for trusting those that did. He did not know the contents. At the time, 4 or 5 newsletters were being published using his name. Nobody suggests that he wrote them, not even the NY Times.
This is nothing but dirty politics. Campaign operatives playing the race card hoping to sway week minded sheeple.
Since when does a desire for limited government and constitutional rights make a person a flaming lib? It sounds to me like you are the flaming lib.
Yea, but how do we know he actually wrote all those things? Apparently his campaign just told us that he has had ghost writers publishing things in his name, right under his nose, for over a decade and Paul was oblivious to it. So how can we trust anything that is claimed he wrote?
..racism is an ugly thing, and I reject it. I believe that all men should be treated equally...
Thanks for the ping, this will please any of the faithful concerned about the racism issue. Let me know when he declares himself emporer.
“ghost writers publishing things in his name, right under his nose, for over a decade and Paul was oblivious to it”
That is what bothered me about this whole newsletter thing.
If he isn’t paying attention to stuff like this, how would he behave as President?
RP was never on my list of candidates to vote for.
Fringe type of which too many libertarians are, IMHO.
Too much mercury and hallucinogens in Wild Shrimp I think.
