Who do we thank for our sticky economy and descending dollar? The entire elite political class: the liberal pansies we send to Washington to rule us and destroy our economy!

Baloney. I’ll take life in this country any day over life in the UK.

I don’t agree with this.
If you removed the illegals slums and other historical laggards here from the stats
and did the same in the UK
Our median income would dwarf their’s.
So much of their standard of living is dole.

It would be interesting to see a per capita comparison between the two countries, of home ownership, size of those residences, number of vacation homes, cars, trucks, collector cars and hot rods, TV’s, DVD players, computers, high speed internet access connections, jet skis, snow mobiles, trucks, mp3 players, etc.

The GDP per head in the UK is expected to exceed that of the USA in 2008 They predict that gross domestic product (GDP) per head in the UK, an indicator of average incomes, will be £23,500 in 2008, compared with £23,250 in America, reflecting the strength of the pound against the dollar and the steady growth of the British economy.
Right, is that before, or after taxes.
Hey, they've got to have something to hang their hats on. If that's all they've got, they're welcome to it.

Analysts at the respected Oxford Economics consultancy say that increasing incomes, free healthcare and longer holidays make the average Briton better-off than his or her US counterpart.Tell that to the Brit's waiting to see the dentist. There is no such thing as free health care. Their tax system does not have a concept of deductions and the rates are 11%, 15%, 21%, and 40% (not 100% sure on the top rate but it's close).
Let me also add that most of the "middle to upper" class pay for private insurance to supplement the "free" health care so they get better services.
The UK is a lovely place to live and I rate it a close 2nd behind the US. But then again I'm an American.

Standard of living in UK better than in USA Right ... try to buy an gun there.

Their "Standard of Living" calculation ignores the fact that a house in England that most people in the U.S. would consider way too small, cold, drafty, and with crappy plumbing to boot, costs about five times as much as a decent tract home here. Add in the fact that most Brits drive a little sh!tbox car that would fit in the back of a pickup truck because gas is now $8.00 a gallon. The traffic in England makes Los Angeles seem like the open country, and the weather in England, well, say no more!
It's funny how every one of my relatives in England would give their right arm to live in the U.S., while I keep my red passport just for travel, I ain't EVER moving back.

Watch people’s feet, and where they lead them. Are there more people leaving the U.S for England, or is it the other way around? The answer to that is proof of overall standard of living.

However the average British person may not feel richer than their US cousins as goods and services there are often vastly cheaper. So, despite earning less, the average American can buy more.Buried the real information didn't they?

No need to feel bitter. This is more left wing propaganda designed to placate the UK masses who don't have anything near the quality of life found in the new world.
If you want hard facts google up real estate web sites and look at their housing stock - across all price ranges. You'll be shocked at how small, stale and unattractive their housing stock is compared to ours.
The Uk media is lower than a snake belly in a wagon rut when it comes to propaganda and disinformation against their own.
