"From murder and intimidation, to the crass and the blasphemous, 2007 was a horrendous year of Christian bashing, said Dr. Gary L. Cass, Chairman and CEO of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission. Anti- Christian sentiments are being fomented in the culture and are becoming more deadly and cynical, said Cass.

It’s no less than Christians deserve, what with honor killings, fatwa’s, beheadings, suicide bombings...oh, wait...that’s somebody else. /sarc
Excellent point. Christianity cares for those who deserve it and quite often for those who don't. I've never known a true Christian who beheaded or stoned someone to death. Not have I ever known a true Christian who demanded that someone embrace his/her religion.
It’s really amazing in a nation where 78% of it’s residents call themselves Christian, that the hateful atheist minority gets such big voice.
Ping!
Yeh, that is amazing....and sickening too. :(
Where are we going, and why are we in a handbasket?
Christian bashing is actually a positive, it means the devil isn’t happy.
Then again, those were both about 30 years ago and were catalysts for the stuff going on today . . .
The only thing that prevents liberals from loading us all into cattle cars is the power to do it.
"Mocking Christians, blaspheming their faith and ridiculing their values has become the easy way for entertainers to shock their way to the top."
Worked for Hitler with the Jews, too.
That is the unvarnished truth. Should they succeed in acquireing the absolute power they openly crave, should they succeed in disarming us, that's precisely where it'll go.
If you don't mind, I'd like to use that line for a tag line.
These people are literally insane with hate. They have the hearts and souls of history’s worst mass-murderers. You can neither reason with nor reform such a twisted mindset. Which leads us to our favorite ‘elephant in the living room’ : what response can you possibly have to that sort of mindless hate?
It will be the same athiest Christian bashing people calling out to God when this nation faces first economic ruin and then suffering from major global conflict. People tend to believe that God shoots out lightening bolts like Zuess to change things in this world. Reality is, as more people desert Christian principles such as ‘do unto others as you would want done unto you’ and ‘love thy neighbor as thyself’ you get a country full of security holes, greed and chaos. It makes it that much easier for our enemies to attack us because we are not watching each other’s backs. It’s not God causing this, it’s ignorning very simply but powerful principles that makes up Christianity.
Hmmm. Not at this stage perhaps but it’s getting there and it’s dangerous.
I will follow the advice of the founding fathers of this nation and stay armed.
Also, I read the bible not simply listen to preachers. Jesus gave some nice advice to His apostles about carrying a sword when they traveled while preaching the gospel abroad. Guess I’ll also mention the book of Revelations that says He make war when He returns on those ruining the earth.
Don’t need any other guidance as far as I am concerned, I’ll stay armed and won’t hesitate to defend my countrymen with deadly force.
I was surprised that Kathy Griffin’s award speech wasn’t included, but it would certainly have to come in at #8 (at least) rather than displacing any of the cited examples.
Good article. And America is getting worse, for sure. But it’s not as bad as it could get of course. We western Christians would do well to remember the persecution of the jailing, death and dismemberment kind to which so many other countries subject their Christians. Some facts -
1. In the past two millennia, more than 70 million Christians have been martyred for their faith, and today Christians are the most persecuted group in the world.
2. It is estimated that more Christians were martyred in the 20th century than in all prior centuries combined.
3. In the upcoming year, an estimated 160,000 believers will die at the hands of their oppressors.
4. Over 200 million in at least 60 countries will be denied fundamental human rights solely because of their faith. As a result, they will be persecuted, arrested, tortured, beaten or jailed. In many nations it is illegal to own a Bible, share ones faith, change ones faith or allow children under 18 to attend a religious service.
5. Due to Communisms decline and Islams radicalization, Islamism has replaced Communism as the worlds primary persecutor.
The scary thing is, much of what these foreign countries go through is coming to the west, if we keep going down this same road of multiculturalism. Islam is making socio-political and demographic inroads all over Europe, and we’re headed in the same direction.
