Two Central Texas-based businesses are among the best places to work for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees, according to a report released Tuesday by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
Round Rock-based Dell and Austins Freescale Semiconductor were among the 195 companies to receive a perfect score based on the foundations Corporate Equality Index. The index measures policies and practices implemented to promote fairness and equality in the workplace for GLBT employees, according to the foundation.
Seven other Texas-based companies made the list: AMR Corp., Fort Worth; J.C. Penney Co., Plano; Clear Channel Communications, San Antonio; Brinker International, Dallas; Waste Management, Houston; GameStop Corp., Grapevine; and AT&T Inc., San Antonio.
I will not knowingly work with a homo. Benefits of being a contract software engineer.
A couple of good restaurants, lots of music clubs, Small undistinguished museum, practically no galleries. Lot’s of self righteous “liberals” and commie professors.
Austin, Houston, South Dallas, need one say more?
I like BLT sandwiches but no Gravy.
i visited this thread simply because
i was curious to find out what a glbt was
i thought maybe it was some kind of a sandwich
like a blt or something - my bad
So when you apply for a contract, do you ask ‘got any homos working here?’ That must go over real well.
Seven other Texas-based companies made the list:...Waste Management, Houston;
It is more discrete than than. Just tap your foot a lot during the interview.
You like being the only one, huh?
I have ways of finding out. I work for small businesses.
“Hi, my name’s Fred. You a homo?”
Synonyms: “Corporate America” and “Sodom and Gomorrha”
“You got any turd tampers here?”
“Ya know. Homo, rump rangers, turd burglars”
“Cause they like to come on to me. I guess it is my virileness. It causes me a lot of problems in rest areas. I go to rest areas a lot to meet women. I sit in the parking lot waiting. Next thing ya know, I’m being sexually assaulted by a fairy. I been arrested 18 times just cause a my virileness. Completely innocent on my part. It’s my natural male aura”.
Wide stance. Can’t be helped
It disgust me to no end that Homsexual men want me to accept their filthy sexual preference for anal sex with other men.
Do you have a wide stance?
I think theyjust want you to leave them be.
Resolute, do you have Gaydar? What says you about Ryan Seacrest and Lindsey Graham?
When married to my first wife and had no kids and was somewhat social, her sister ( who is a flaming lib and hates my guts ) experimented crossing over to the lap licker side and had many GLBT friends and they were always coming around since my ex was too nice to run them off. I became sensitive to the aura once a few moments of close contact went by.
I have a wide stance for another reason :) that was tacky :)
“What says you about Ryan Seacrest and Lindsey Graham?” Yes and may be given the chance :)
You mean to tell me I bought a computer that is lite in the loafers???
They need to add Verizon to this list if they missed that company...
That’s a shame - you’re missing out on knowing some truly nice people (who could probably help you in your career, too). Not kidding.
These people are kidding if they think people will accept having transgendereds working next to them.
Wait until HR sees them losing their best employees. It’s one thing to deal with a closeted homosexual, but someone who’s gone the sex change route?
Just you wait.
My test is to yell “clang clang.” If they answer “Where’s the Trolley”, then you know you have one.
Heck, when I go to restaurants now I have to ask for the non-gay section.
I am in the top of my field and more work than can do. Thanks anyway.
You’re welcome, and congratulations on your job success.
It’s a free country, of course, & you have every right to choose with whom you’re going to associate.
Actually the best response to your initial statement (”I will not knowingly work with a homo.”) is a question: why not?
The same reason I do not associate with Cowboys fans, loud unruly people, unyielding Democrats, druggies, or my ex-wife, I don’t want to.
That explains a lot about Dell’s marketing choices lately.
It would probably shock you to know that we don’t talk about sex at work.
Here in our small-town Walmart, there was a confused young man. I watched him over a period of several months transition from just having somewhat feminine speech to wearing primarily pink, and finally a pair of pink chandelier earrings to work! That was the straw that broke the camel's back. I had to talk to the manager. She said she'd had lots of complaints and asked me to call corporate. I did. He was fired the next week, and everyone was relieved. They knew he was just pushing the envelope further and further, and they were all bothered by it. But it took customers to complain.
