If you are correct and Fred is the only Republican that can win in the November general election, then he should have no trouble winning among Republicans in the primaries. SC is his best shot. If he cannot take enough votes from Huckster and McCain to win in SC, I don't see how one can hold that he would be our strongest candidate in the general elction. Let's wait and see.
I don’t usually consider DrudgeReport to be as liberal as the MSM, but am I the only one that noticed Drudge has not had a single Fred-positive headline today, even though Fred clearly won yesterday’s debate ?
If Drudge is ignoring Fred, and Fox has generally ignored Fred, then even SC is going to be tough to win. Hopefully, the local press in SC is giving Fred more visibility than the national press is.
A LOT of Baptists in SC, and Huckleberry is counting on the Baptist vote. If FRed can carry the Joe-six-pack voters in SC, he can move ahead with momentum. If he finishes weakly in SC, no amount of hope is left for his candidacy, and, for Conservatives at all....
Up to $733,513 now. GO FRED!
anyway....FYI :)
Thompson, In Critical SC Contest, Keeps Up Criticism Of Huckabee
************************EXCERPT********************
In South Carolina Friday, White House hopeful Fred Thompson continued his criticism of rival Mike Huckabee, calling the primary contest a fight between the ideals of Ronald Reagan and populist appeals that blame others for problems.
The former Tennessee senator and actor has declared South Carolina his "line in the sand." An early favorite when he entered the race, Thompson has since been overshadowed by Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor who has wide appeal to Christian conservatives, and by John McCain, the Arizona senator who got a boost with his New Hampshire victory.
Thompson questioned Huckabee's commitment to Reagan's principles.
A Huckabee spokesman suggested Thompson apparently can't sell himself so is resorting to desperate tactics.
That’s what I mean. That’s not what I call a positive article. It highlights that Fred is making a last stand, reminds people that McCain just won his one-and-only Primary in NH, and speaks only of Fred’s criticism on Huckster and not Fred’s own positive platform. It makes it sound like Fred is running ‘attack ads’ against Huckabee.
There were a dozen postive articles about Fred’s SC run today. Including this one on FoxNews. Why are none of them linked on Drudge ??
Drudge is a pro-life liberal, I suspect.
That, and Fred is not sensationalistic, just damn good.
Over 750K!!! Way to GO!!! GO FRED!
[My fingers are crossed.]
Yes indeed. We conservatives have only Fred now and we hope South Carolina chooses wisely, Fred is the conservative.
Now that is remarkable...what policies do you want?
Without Thompson, then I am left deciding which Democrate will be our next President.
Yep, a brokered convention with Thompson-Romney vs. McCain-Huckabee and very likely odd-man-out Rudy Giuliani playing kingmaker with his endorsement. Of course delegates aren’t bound to vote the way the candidate they were pledged to says to on subsequent ballots, so there could be a mass migration to Fred regardless, if he comes out as the party favorite by the convention.
Drudge is a pro-life libertarian who is ultra-paranoid of Big Government and Big Brother. Have you never listened to his show?
Yeah... we’ll save Sean a seat on Fred’s bandwagon way back in the back seat were the mudd flies..lol
not just a elephant, a Giant Elephant
