In a story about two elder statesmen from different sides of the aisle you cannot trust either one. I don’t put it past McCain to switch and I don’t put it past Kerry to lie.

Because McCain ostensibly is an open-borders, pro-tax liberal?

Didn’t Kerry serve in Vietnam?

If McCain gets the nod, he will offer the Veep slot to Lieberman. Guaranteed.

You read my mind. I wouldn’t trust either of them for the truth.

This should not come as a surprise to most. He is only different from a democrat marginally.

He won’t get my vote in a primary or a general election for that reason.

Didn’t Kerry serve in Vietnam?

When he wasn't in Cambodia with the CIA's super-secret Magic Hat batallion

"Didn’t Kerry serve in Vietnam?"

Someone should ask him, because he'd never cop to it on his own.

I would support McCain if he is the nominee. I’ll take moderate liberalism over socialism.

I see nowhere in this “story” where McCain approached Kerry. Kerry only claims that McCain’s “people” approached.

More crap from the professional liars.

It’s late and I’ve been drinking. I think ostensibly means something like “by all outward appearances,” which I think holds for the original statement. (It doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s deceptive, like he appears to be a liberal but isn’t.) I say ostensibly, I guess, because he appears outwardly to be liberal because, well, he’s a liberal.

I’m confusing myself.

Thanks for the old news that we knew about 4 years ago. As much as I wish Fred would get the nominiation, it’s either gonna be McCain, Mitt, or Huckster..McCain has the best chance to beat the Dems of the 3 by far

"Didn’t Kerry serve in Vietnam?"

Yes, about 3 months -- and lied about most that happened....and didn't happen.

He did serve in VN, but all else is speculative.
