I read an article about that pistol the other day.
The SIS now carries Glock 21s and Smith and Wesson 4506 pistols, both chambered in 45 auto.

I CCW the Kimber Ultra Carry II. And just for the record I haven't
shot any police officers. Although there was a Sergeant who politely
asked me not to shoot him.

this is the smaller version. looks very concealable.

"It is very disturbing," said Councilman Jack Weiss. "If any member of the public is shot with one of these guns or, heaven forbid, a cop is shot with one these guns, what would be the explanation?" Symbolism over substance rears its foolish head again.
The only disturbing thing about this incident is that someone with a child's level of understanding of the world has somehow stepped into a government position that ought to have been reserved for adults...

Let me guess, deprived childhood? Poverty? Racist oppression?
Liberals, they are so transparent.

Sometimes it is. Not all suspects are guilty. Some may be very innocent.Agreed.

This isn’t the first time Kimber has marketed a pistol designed to LAPD specs. An earlier model, the Custom II TLE (Tactical Law Enforcement) had LAPD SWAT input in its design - most notably the serrated front of the grip, the Mepro tritium dot sights and match barrel. I really like mine :)

City leaders criticize the modified version of a gun originally made for an elite unit of the Los Angeles Police Department that has a history of fatal shootings. So, for instance, a history of non-fatal, near-miss shootings is better for us? I think not? Looked at one of those SIS pretties at the local gun shop a few days ago. Nice. I keep asking for something like that for Christmas. Guess I have to start reminders for my birthday now.

Why would anyone have their underwear in a bunch over this? Especially civil rights “leaders”; it seems like a great tool to protect one’s civil rights.

Heaven forbid that we mere subjects be allowed protect ourselves with the same weapons the government is allowed to use against us.

Ya gotta love that
SS design on the slide! Must be for the LAPD SS Detectives.
I bet this Policeman would be proud to have one of his own.

Civic leaders went on to say that while they would be outraged if their police were likked with these guns, all the hundreds of other gun models held by criminals were perfectly acceptable substitutes for shooting an officer with. “What’s wrong with a sawed-off shotgun?” one remarked with wonder.

It’s not like this gun is any better than any other 1911 model. It just has a dorky SIS pattern at the front and back of the slide.
To: DogByte6RER
the modified version of a gun ......that has a history of fatal shootings.
Sounds like an endorsement to me. Isn't that what they're made for?

At one time the most dangerous gun to the Pols was the Cheap Saturday Night special. And now it’s a custom made expensive weapon. I wish they’d make up there minds. Sort of like global warming is now climate change. Just reword the BS to suit there agenda and presto chango the masses won’t notice. Man are they delusional.
