"A third of my generation is dead because of politicians like Giuliani." -- Steven Pokorny, age 28, at Giuliani during meeting in Miami, Sunday, Jan. 13

MIAMI, Jan. 13 /Christian Newswire/ -- Rudy Giuliani was rattled by pro-life advocates and canceled his speech at his first bus-tour event Sunday in Miami.  Activists have planned confrontations with Rudy for every stop of his Florida bus tour.  Photos available online.

On Sunday, Jan. 13, at approximately 12:15 PM, pro-life activists were in the crowd at The Green Street Cafe (located at 3110 Commodor Plaza, Coconut Grove Florida, just outside Miami) waiting for Giuliani to begin his Florida Bus Tour.

When Rudy Giuliani arrived, Joseph Landry (age 26) was within 5 feet of the candidate, and began yelling: You are a baby killer! You are a baby killer! Florida is pro-life! Rudy wants public funding for abortion!"  See news report. Law enforcement officials immediately escorted Mr. Landry from the area, while Mr. Landry continued his monologue.

Within Minutes, Steven Pokorny, age 28, stood to his feet and cried out, "A third of my generation is dead because of politicians like Giuliani! Giuliani wants to kill children and have you pay for it!" Law enforcement did not stop Mr. Pokorny.

At that point, Giuliani left the building, without addressing the crowd.

Mr. Pokorny was able to follow Mr. Giuliani for more than a minute, yelling out about Rudy's pro-choice, pro-homosexual agenda. Again, Mr. Pokorny was not interrupted by police.

Giuliani officials had no idea how many pro-lifers were in the crowd, and how many more times Giuliani would be confronted. This might explain why Mr. Giuliani did not make any remarks - and left the meeting without addressing supporters.

Pro-lifers have scheduled confrontations with Rudy on every stop of his Florida Bus tour.

Video footage of the confrontations with Rudy is available upon request.

In your opinion, does the first amendment protect the Phelps family when they go protest military funerals?

Please don’t feel like I’m putting you on the spot, I’m just curious what the difference is and how you and other folks view it.

I loved the idea, that one could speask up, and after he is removed, another, and after he is removed, another.

That puts power to truth.

Please re-read what I wrote. You totally missed the point.

You continually argue what (you think) the Constitution allows.

Even if you are correct, what is the point of doing something within the political process that is counter-productive to the goals of your movement?

Nobody said it was wrong or “not allowed.”

Really. Then, why is that so clearly indicative when KeithCu said the following:

The first amendment gives you the right to stand in line and ask a question, but not to interrupt!!

First Code Pink was run out of Miami as fast as their truck could go, and now Rudy, apparently speechless before a public crowd.

Florida 2, liberals 0

I had no idea that First Amendment rights were suspended at rallies.

In Giuliani's perfect-world they would be. Or at least all rallies except his. Remember those "taxi-terrorists" in NYC?

No one said First Amendment rights are “suspended” or that we “live in Marxist China.” Get a grip.

How do you get from numerous comments that these protests are viewed as counter-productive to someone telling you the First Amendment is toast and America is Marxist China?

That’s just weird.

I remember a campaign stop back in 1992 when I was in my first year of college, and there were protesters there who had the abortion photos on posterboard, on sticks to show off the viewpoints of Hillary! on abortion.

They may be gross, but they are quite effective in showing her position on abortion.

“A third of my generation is dead because of politicians like Giuliani”

A statement like that is better and clearer than raw numbers of the dead unborn....

BUMP

Again, what are those smarter ways that will stop abortion dead in it’s tracks ????????????

Okay, this is getting ridiculous.

Excuse me, but the burden is on those supporting these protests and claiming that they are helpful to give the rest of us some evidence that this is indeed the case.

Let me use your standard: please answer the question, "how will protesting Rudy Guiliani until he gets out of the race STOP ABORTION DEAD IN IT'S [sic] TRACKS ????????????"

Which is beside the point: Rudy is very much in favor of policies that encourage abortion. More than that, he is an advocate. of them.

It is true that good and evil are not equivalent, but it is also true that Rudy is not evil.

You might be misinformed about him, and you might be angry at him, but that doesn’t make him evil.

I’ve already addressed that there are times when, in interest of public safety, as an example, one should not yell “fire” in a crowded theater. I also believe that it is beyond the pale to scream/yell/interrupt a private funeral gathering.

However, if people cannot gather and express themselves at POLITICAL RALLIES, especially concerning national political figures who intend to become president, for what purpose would the Founding Fathers have inserted such an Amendment in the Bill of Rights?

That is not the "litmus test" for upholding freedom of speech.

I can’t help but wonder if they really WANT to reduce/ eliminate abortions or just give themselves a “cause” to rally to.

This is Randall Terry we're talking about! This guy is the Al Sharpton of the pro-life movement.

Answer the question, please.

And don’t presume that you have any clue who “my candidate” is.

Or what “upsets” me. What upsets me here is that those cheering on these counter-productive tactics refuse to even try to explain how they think these protests are, in fact, a valuable addition to the political process as it is unfolding at this point in time.

“Rudy is indeed a liberal Republican, and I won’t vote for him in the primary. But he would do much better in the war on terror than Hitlery or Hussein Obama or the Breck Girl. He would save more American lives in that respect.”

Zell Miller would also do better than the RATS you mention but I wont be voting for him either.

Romney is still anti-gun and he hasn’t flipped on that yet.
