Drug-resistant staph found to be passed in gay sex
Reuters ^ | Mon Jan 14, 2008 6:17pm EST | Amanda Beck

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - A drug-resistant strain of potentially deadly bacteria has moved beyond the borders of U.S. hospitals and is being transmitted among gay men during sex, researchers said on Monday.

They said methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA, is beginning to appear outside hospitals in San Francisco, Boston, New York and Los Angeles.

Sexually active gay men in San Francisco are 13 times more likely to be infected than their heterosexual neighbors, the researchers reported in the Annals of Internal Medicine.

"Once this reaches the general population, it will be truly unstoppable," said Binh Diep, a researcher at the University of California, San Francisco who led the study. "That's why we're trying to spread the message of prevention."

According to chemical analyses, bacteria are spreading among the gay communities of San Francisco and Boston, the researchers said.

"We think that it's spread through sexual activity," Diep said.

*snip*

"Your likelihood of contracting each of these diseases increases with the number of sexual partners that you have," Diep said. "The same can probably be said for MRSA."

Quarantine. Learn the lesson of AIDS.

They can have sex with each other in quarantine until they die from the bacterial infection.

Yeah, we've heard this before.

When the general population is routinely having unprotected anal sex with dozens of strangers in sticky-floored "bath houses," perhaps I'll lend some credence to his concerns.

That we’ve been warned, for thousands of years, by a loving God, not to defile our bodies in such a manner, because there are destructive bodily consequences, let alone destructive spiritual consequences, is completely lost on these deluded people. It’s as if they’re possessed. And, guess who they’ll blame for their grievous sores? They’ll curse anyone who believes in the God who warned them, as well as God himself. Some things never change.

Nah, clearly the answer is to mobilize the gay lobby and divert more taxpayer dollars into research into fag diseases. Those suffering from “non-gay diseases” will just have to “feel the pain” a little longer.

>>>>DUDES get Cholera a lot, here, and it’s completely 1st world, right?

For some reason this reminds me of Kathmandu, Nepal, where I’ve traveled a few times in preparation for trekking.

Seems the World Health Organization did an extensive water study and found that the KTM water supply had every form of virus, bacteria, pathogen, and deadly disease. Cholera, of course. But how about meningitis, diptheria, Hep A and B, etc etc. Just about every scary disease you can imagine.

And they discovered the problem too. Throughout KTM the “fresh” water conduits and the sewer conduits were built right next to each other, and were in various stages of decomposition everywhere. So of course the “fresh” water was completely contaminated with human feces and other decaying organic matter.

There’s an analogy to the SFO cholera problem somewhere in that story.

BTW, it’s very easy to get very sick in KTM. I had my one and only near-death food poisoning there. I knew of some other guys who both got cerebral meningitis (one died), and a woman who died from rabies in Boston about a month after getting back home.

I guess that’s how we should think of SFO.

I have heard through the years that a lot of strange and resistant infections are at least indirectly caused by spreading from the gays to the rest of the population. I’d be surprised if not only is MRSA spread by gay sex, it started out there. We’re constantly told that resistant infections are our fault for taking antibiotics, but like all the rest of the lies we’ve been told by the Left, you had to wonder if there was more to the story. One really has to wonder if these kinds of infections are what killed off the people in Sodom and Gomorrah. Lot’s Wife did not merely look back, but returned to these types of behaviors.

But But But Gays are exactly like heterosexuals and they are loving couples, and should be adopting kids and married and I’m sure they aren’t being promiscuous, or performing strange sex acts with many many partners a month so this medical evidence and common sense must be inaccurate.

Don't you wonder why, in the course of human history, just about every civilization condemned homosexuality? Maybe things like this have something to do with it. We're supposed to believe in the "village" mentality, yet when aberrant behavior leads to infections that poison all of society, we're told to mind our own business and leave the poor homos alone.

This abomination threatens all of us.

Resistant staph is much more likely to be found in the homosexual population.

The average homosexual is treated much more often for VD, the treatment of course is penicillin which always wipes out whatever ordinary staph the patient may have in their system.

The gay body is the ideal testtube for this kind of super-resistant bug.

Back in the 80s when aids was just becoming popular, I spoke with an elderly doctor about it. According to this doctor, homosexual men have been getting mysteriously sick and dying of unknown and rare bugs for a long time before HIV was isolated. I would think that long after aids is no longer a problem, the same kind of thing will continue with MRSA.

MRSA is nasty and it can take out relatively healthy people. It is a big problem at hospitals in America and the UK. It is underreported because hospitals are not required to report it to CDC or the public. But privately among doctors/staff it is a huge problem. There’s only one drug that can knock it out and it’s only a matter of time before it mutates to be able to deal with that.
