AIDS Patients Face Downside of Living Longer (effects of AIDS drugs "worse than having AIDS")
New York Times ^ | January 6, 2008 | JANE GROSS

Those explanations do not satisfy Larry Kramer, founder of several AIDS advocacy groups. Mr. Kramer, 73 and a long-term survivor, said he had always suspected “it was only a matter of time before stuff like this happened” given the potency of the antiretroviral drugs. “How long will the human body be able to tolerate that constant bombardment?” he asked. “Well, we are now seeing that many bodies can’t. Once again, just as we thought we were out of the woods, sort of, we have good reason again to be really scared.”

Again, the caring right wing, pro-life Christians show their undying compassion towards human life.

I have a great deal of compassion for human life and for the innocent victims of AIDS. It’s the ones who contract it by means of their perverted conduct I can’t feel much sympathy for.

Not the first time I have heard of a 70+ person lamenting the fact that their body was deteriorating due to any number of causes.

In addition to the lifestyle effects, there is this phenomenon called getting old.

Read the article. For some reason it’s not working on the excerpt. It’s younger people they are talking about.

In 1993 I knew the following to be true:

If you were HIV positive, otherwise healthy and took AZT per your doctors orders you would die. If you didn't, you would live.

Nothing I have read since has changed my mind on that subject. All that changed is the dose levels of the killer drugs that are prescribed for HIV positives. So death is a little slower.

Here is my prescription for anyone who is told they are HIV positive.

Stop taking any kind of illegal drugs. Take a hard look at any prescription medicine you are taking and make sure that it isn't killing you. In particular, refuse any drugs offered as a "cure" for your HIV infection. Change your eating habits to a healthy diet. Start exercising regularly. Stop having sex in ways that make you subject to continuous viral or bacterial infections.

If people took your advice, AIDS would disappear in short order IMHO.

So..people who get ill by behavior you find offensive, are less than human? I thought we’re all God’s children. Do you have a similar opinion of people who smoke, drink and eat too much?

It seems most of the people cited in the article are 50+. I’ve been griping about my deterioration since I was 40. I see it’s not going to get much better.

Not discussed here is the effects of decades of feces ingestion, and drug and alcohol abuse. Many people with these behavioral disorders do pay with a pretty severe toll on their bodies.

I am not a medical professional, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night with my wife, who is an ICU nurse. The complex of problems associated with similar patients that she sees is pretty dramatic, even in people in their 20’s and 30’s.

There used to be a program called “Scared Straight” where delinquents get to visit people incarcerated in jail. Perhaps there should be similar programs for youngsters to visit broken-down homosexuals in hospital ICUs to accompany their sexual diversity/tolerance training.

Behavior that is against the moral order. I think their conduct is intrinsically evil and that they’re getting exactly what they deserve.

(1) AIDS is not contagious. For example, not even one health care worker has contracted AIDS from over 800,000 AIDS patients in America and Europe.

This is just plain not true.

A friend (an emergency room nurse) died from aids. She contracted it from blood spattered in her eye by an accident victim. This occurred in the early days of the epidemic before nurses routinely wore protective gloves, glasses etc.

==So..people who get ill by behavior you find offensive, are less than human?

Actually, there are a plethora of otherwise healthy heterosexual men, women and children who, if Duesberg et all are correct (see post #2 and #6), are being maimed or killed by the very chemotherapy drugs they use to treat AIDS.

I would challenge you to read the paper in post #2 carefully. It was certainly an eye-opener for me.

Well that would be the first, and the AIDS establishment would have rushed her case into publication had they ever heard about it.

Just out of curiosity, since you said this happened in the early days, was she put on AZT?

Before you conclude that she died of AIDS you had better have a close look at the drugs that were given to her as a "cure". They probably killed her.

BTW, I won’t bore you with post #2 since you already seem to be well versed re: AIDS rethinkers. But did you happen to read post #6? Conservatives have been hoodwinked by the AIDS establishment and I think it’s about time they woke up to this fact and held them accountable.

All the best—GGG

That sounds good in theory. I believe in practice any attempt to hold anyone resposible inside the beltway will disappear into a bureaucratic morass of round-robin finger pointing. That is the way of bureaucracies.

Or maybe their health problems have nothing to do with AIDS drugs and more to do with the cumulative affect of repeated STD infections.
