On Meet the Press on Sunday, Hillary Clinton said her campaign had nothing to do with a lawsuit--written about by Nation Editor Katrina vanden Heuvel--that threatens to prevent thousands of workers from voting in the Nevada caucus on Saturday.
Back in March, the Nevada Democratic Party agreed to set up caucus locations on the Vegas strip for low-income shift workers, many of them members of the state's influential Culinary Union, who commute long distances to work and wouldn't be able to get home in time to caucus. It was an uncontroversial idea until the Culinary Union endorsed Barack Obama and the Nevada State Education Association, whose top officials support Clinton, sued to shut down the caucus sites. The Clinton camp played dumb until yesterday, when President Clinton came out in favor of the lawsuit.
Clinton's comments drew a heated response from D. Taylor, the head of Nevada's Culinary Union, on MSNBC's Hardball. "He is in support of disenfranchising thousands upon thousands of workers, not even just our members," Taylor said of Clinton. "The teachers union is just being used here. We understand that. This is the Clinton campaign. They tried to disenfranchise students in Iowa. Now they're trying to disenfranchise people here in Nevada, who are union members and people of color and women."

Who me? Trying to stiff the working stiffs?
Creating obstacles to voting is what the GOP does
to Democrats, not what Democrats should be doing
to other Democrats.
I love it when the Democrats eat each other.

For the Clintons no dirty trick is too dirty or to low.
Since the Clinton years, 9/11 and Mexico’s invasion of Los Angeles haven’t the American people suffered enough?
I heard that the Dems want those who are going to use the sites on the Strip to show photo ID.
Then be sure to check this thread from yesterday out if you haven't already.
clintons just being clintons
The most interesting part is that the Teacher’s union members are upset too. This explains why Hillary wanted a truce on racial issues. A lot of these workers are black and hispanic.
Can someone point me to somewhere that gives an incidence of Republicans doing this to Democrats?
The last sentence of the article:
“The lawsuit’s opponents make a persuasive point. Creating obstacles to voting is what the GOP does to Democrats, not what Democrats should be doing to other Democrats.”
Things are getting interesting in the enemies camp! Bet hillary never expected this much resistance!
Remember during the Impeachment hearings when Larry Flynt offered a flat MILLION DOLLARS to anyone that could get some substantial dirt on a Republican? When pressed Clinton said, he is a private citizen and I can’t control him. Course he could ‘control’ a mother and father who mentioned the word ‘murderer’ (in regards to their dead son who was killed in Somalia??) The SS dragged them off and harrassed them for hours...Of course Wee Willie had nothing to do with that either....
Could the Republicans do this to Democrats being that this is a caucus?
I haven’t a clue——about much of anything during these cauci or whatever the plural for caucus is—LOL!
In Maryland, they just close down the public schools on election days. There was a time when schools were used for voting places, but not so much any more. The teachers get the day off to campaign for Dems, drive people to polls, etc., I guess.
if the clintons are denying......what they deny must be the truth!!!!
