Former Sen. John Edward has been embracing the leader of the American Muslim Council (AMC), an organization with a history of defending Palestinian terrorists and whose founder is in prison after pleading guilty to violating anti-terror legislation. M. Ali Khan has helped organize at least two fundraisers for Edwards and, in a series of internet postings, described how he reached the inner sanctum of the former senator's campaign adviseors. Khan is listed by the Edwards campaign as a fundraising solicitor and he helped host at least two campaign fundraisers. AMC was founded in 1990 by Abdurahman Alamoudi. Alamoudi was arrested in 2003 and subsequently indicted for illegal transactions with Libya. He is now serving a 23-year prison sentence. In an article on the AMC website last May, Khan described his first meeting with the candidate at a fundraiser: "This was a great meeting for John and I to get to know each other. I look forward to getting to know John Edwards further." Two of those chances to get to know Edwards better came in fundraisers Khan hosted. In 2004 Khan wrote, "Despite this country's claim to be a defender of human rights, President Bush and his administration have turned a blind eye on the terror being set loose by the Israeli government on Palestinians." Another bizarre article posted to the AMC website at the time of the controversy over the Danish cartoons, called for a kind of global censorship to criminalize such publications everywhere. Khan has pushed the idea of the victimization of American Muslims after 9/11. After a third place finish in New Hampshire, Edwards has vowed to stay in the race through the Democratic National Convention. That gives him, and the voters, plenty of time to learn more about his inner circle.

Americans should be concerned that In 1996 the U.S. Senate was informed that the AMC was the “de facto lobbying arm of the Muslim Brotherhood,” and that an AMC pressure group was already active in Washington D.C. and in the halls of Congress. Among the other AMC leaders was Soliman Biheiri, a banker responsbile for the “financial toehold of the Muslim Brotherhood in the USA.” If you ask an American what he thinks of the Muslim Brotherhood activity either in the USA or worldwide, expect a blank stare. Our ignorance of the Islamist movement is abysmal.

Heard him on George Nouri’s “Coast to Coast” show a couple weeks ago.
Talk about a pro-communist attorney with a mental problem. Even his friends on the Left have moved away from him because of his head problems.
Also, his wife (if they are still married), was a leader of NOW and a leftist in her own right (sorry, no pun intended).

No, this is the first I’ve heard of that. But if he’s a mentally deranged leftist attorney he’s now where he belongs — with Kucinich.
I certainly agree and I think part of the reason is much of the public gets its “news” and information from the PC MSM, in which everything is reduced to moral equivalence and cultural relativity.

I believe that the ignorance of the Islamist movement that threatens us can be demonstrated by the responses to your post. I tried to stay on point, but none of the others really had anything interesting to say regarding the post itself. It suggests that they are ignorant of the subject. Anyway, nice try.
No. I can’t see him as Obama’s VP. Of course that brings up a good question for all of the Democrat cadidates. Who would they choose to as VP?
