Obama's Detestable Dirty Tricks
Times Online ^ | January 16, 2008 | Alice Miles

Posted on 01/18/2008 1:24:33 PM PST by america4vr

What a shame that a contest that has the world gripped, that is transforming international opinion of the United States, that has shown America in its best and most brilliant light, threatens to descend into a pathetic slanging match over race.

On Monday Hillary Clinton called for a truce reminding everyone that “Senator Obama and I are on the same side”. Hear hear. But how did it come to this?

The thin catalogue of complaints against the Clinton campaign from the Obama campaign were unfounded, manipulative and self-indulgent. At best they called into question the oversensitivity of Mr Obama, at worst they showed him willing to play a divisive race card that is damaging the entire Democratic Party and tarnishing a great and historic electoral contest for the centre Left. The whole episode has convinced me he isn't tough enough for the White House.

For since when has referring to somebody's past admitted drug use - if indeed the Clinton campaign ever intended to do that, which is far from clear - been a racial slur? More racist, I would say, to equate drugs with blacks, and that's what the Obama campaign is doing, not the Clinton one.

As for Mrs Clinton's statement that Martin Luther King's dream of racial equality was realised only when President Johnson managed to get the 1964 Civil Rights Act through Congress? No more than fact, surely; an attack on Mr Obama's lack of experience, certainly, but hardly a slur upon King. Mr Obama's campaign is twisting things so that a comment about any black man is a comment about him, just as any attack on him is an attack on all black people. I ask again: who is playing the race card here?

The only question I have is what took so long.
Soon Hillary is going to drop all pretenses as the real Hillary is forced to take center stage taking no prisoners in the battle to achieve her megalomaniac aspirations.

Bloody as hell and the greatest duel to the death since the heyday of the Colosseum. It's going to be glorious. Can't wait.

I just love it when Hillary’s campaign material gets into the press under someone’s byline.

Obama’s dirty trick? It’s the pinicle of insults to see anyone other than Hillary being chastized over dirty tricks. Every person running in either party is a kindergarten novice compared to the most netharious trickster or tricksteress of all time.

Obama, sit back and relax. This is amaturism as it’s most amature.

And yet when Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton do essentially the same thing, it's fine and dandy.

Ya gotta know Hilda didn’t count on actually having to answer anything...and even now when she does, she say’s nothing and the rapist has to take the heat...the truce that lasted a whole half day, I guess when Ears takes Vegas we’ll see more tears in the near future

Most of the British correspondents don’t have a CLUE what is going on in American election. This article is so dumb I wouldn’t know where to start.

It's not that it's fine and dandy it's that we have such a low opinion of them and don't expect them to aspire to anything greater than the morality of charlatan. It's a very sad reflection on them that nothing they do surprises us or disparages them.

Sure..Hillary calls for a truce after carpet bombing Obama and while having her minions continue to lob grenades at him.

Why does that seem like she and Bubba just beat him senseless and then she is yelling...don’t hit me I am a girl.

Fine and dandy with the Democrats, that is - because Jackson and Sharpton have only played the race card against Republicans.

Obama “experimented” with drugs for 6 or 7 years - - that’s some experiment, and it is not only fair to bring it up, it’s germane.

When this is over, will there be enough left of the winner to go to the convention?

This bloodletting has been inevitable. The plantation darkies finally get to run one of their own and massa is not pleased.

They have to slug it out. Obama is not going to settle for being Miz Hillary’s lawn jockey/toilet seat warmer... I mean running mate.

It’s gonna be full-contact MMA with biting, groin-kicking and eye-gouging and I frankly doubt even the inevitable third-party spoiler candidate can win it for the dems this time.

Yes, prolonged drug use may very well make a candidate such as Obama mentally unfit for the presidency.
But we have a similar problem on our side if the GOP goes ahead and nominates John McCain, as it is most likely the North Vietnamese did psychotropic experiments on him as well.

Roger Clinton was taped stating that his brother, William Jefferson Clinton, snorted so much cocaine that he had a nose like a Hoover vaccum.

Speculation has it that is why Bill Clinton’s medical records were classified Top Secret.

As you are probably aware, there is controversy surrounding Russian involvement in experimentation on POWs in Vietnam, and Manchurian candidate type operations. Some believe this is why McCain was so eager to close the door on the POW-MIA issue in his controversial work with John Kerry. We all know “Insane McCain” isn’t quite right in the head. It’s always been an issue with him just below the surface. And I’m saying this will become a political issue if he is the nominee, no doubt about it. Whether it is just a whisper campaign as it has been for years, or if it breaks out into the media discussion, people will be wondering quietly and aloud if the various types of torture and possible chemicals he may have been plied with could have upset his mental balance. Either way, it would effectively blunt any criticism the GOP could make about Obama, not to mention be a real concern beyond just political rhetoric during a campaign.

Race issues? That IS America.

Love the soaring rhetoric ... Typical EU fascists, wants everyone to join in their misery. The drive by news writers always see themselves on the side of giving the orders, not taking the orders.

Well, at least Hillary isn’t going to let Obama waltz through this entire election without saying a single thing. I know it’s against all of our natures to ever be on Hillary’s side, but in this case, if the press would do its damn job, Obama would have to actually give us details instead of platitudes.

No matter what, this has to happen in their primaries, because any Republican who dares talk about Obama’s “record” will be torn apart by the press...

C’mon. This kind of article reminds me of the corrupt Vichy French police prefect saying that he’s shocked at gambling in Rick’s Cafe Americain. Of course Obama is going to play the race card. It’s the cards he’s been dealt and he’d be a fool not to lead with his strongest cards as a new guy at the table. And of course Hillary will play dirty and mean, since she’s been sitting there with a pile of chips for a long while now and really, really wants to win the table.

This is politics. Dirty tricks? Detestable?! Oh my gosh!? And I understand he’s from Chicago, too.

Yawn.

That card has already been played. Clinton's brother said the pres used cocaine in Ark. In December 1999 after W was asked about using cocaine, his campaign issued a statement that he hadn't for the last 25 years. In January 2000 in an interview with NBC, W said that he stood by that comment and had nothing more to say.

The fact is that, if Obama is elected, we will have our third president in a row who has used cocaine.

Whereas, supreme court candidates are eliminated for MJ use or if they rented Debbie Does Dallas (remember when they reviewed Bork's video rentals?).

I'll tell you why it won't. This is the Dem primary and everything that can be traced to Hillary will be the truth. I can't stand Hillary and while Obama might be neat, he is not clean. I would like to hear more about his connection to Louis Farrakhan.
