Things in South Africa will get much much worse before they even remotely get better.

Most of those who fought to have Apartheid abolished are now in total power and many of them have become quite corrupt. Yes, they are black no its not a race issue...it is a CORRUPTION issue.

When you have the biggest and most powerful national Party, the ANC, placing the likes of Jacob Zuma in their top position so that he will be installed as their next president then there is little hope for them as a nation.

Jacob Zuma raped a girl...the excuse in court? “Her short skirt clearly meant that he was obligated to give her sex.” (his own words) He got out of the trouble.
The woman he RAPED has full blown AIDS. His reply in court when this was revealed “I won’t get it because I took a shower!”
He has over 750 pieces of evidence against him in corruption cases that will be used if they can get it to court...BUT since he can control most in the process that does not appear likely.

The world needs to understand that South Africa is at the edge of a cliff. Time until they walk over the edge varies from who you talk to. Personally I give it about 10-12 years. Mbeki, the current president, SQUANDERED all that Mandela did and you can debate Mandela but he did do many things right to start off the new South Africa in 1994. However, Mbeki did not deliver on many things and he and his new rival, Zuma, had quite a falling out and now Zuma just won everything in the ANC’s recent internal elections.

South Africa is at a turning point. The world has offered them a huge incentive in hosting the FIFA World Soccer Cup in 2010. I have no faith that South Africa can meet the benchmarks that will be necessary to have it here and that it will go elsewhere. If they do have it here I will say here and now that it will be one of the worst but no one will say anything about the corrupt people behind its failure due to the fact they will e branded racists bigots.

The world lives in denial of what South Africa is doing to itself. 1 in 7 here has AIDS. Last year the US spent nearly 600 MILLION to help this country and yet they wont even give the Ambassador here a meeting with the Agricultural Minister. They are glad to take and do nothing in return for nations assisting them.

One of these days the Average South African may get wise to the Jacob Zumas of the world...but hey since he has currently got 4 wives, lives as corrupt as he can be, and educates all ignorant young men that you can rape women who wear skirts just above the knees and that you WON'T get AIDS by taking a shower don’t expect South Africa to shoot ahead in world status.

Well, that’s just a fact. There is NO future for them there. Why would they stay? They are being subjected to a slow motion genocide that will only grow in intensity as the social, political, and economic conditions in the defacto One Party Socialist State deteriorate.
