Cue the Ministry of Silly Explanations.

What part of "Official Campaign Is Not Involved" do you not understand?

Do you want to deny other people their freedom to associate just because you disagree with their beliefs?

In 1943 my grandfather landed in Italy, where he spent the better part of his time between then and May of '45 killing people like the guys in Poker Face. People like the guys in Poker Face put several rounds into my great uncle Del at the Battle of the Bulge. People like the guys in Poker Face started a war that killed tens of millions. People like the guys in Poker Face conceived, designed, built, supplied and ran Auschwitz.

Passing the word that the candidate is no longer interested in hearing from, being seen with, or getting help from these people would not be a violation of freedom of association. It would be sane. And that's why Ron Paul hasn't done it.

The point that is being made over and over and over again is the large number (and proportion) of racists, conspiracy nuts, and general all-around wackos who go out of their way to support Paul. It doesn’t matter how much he personally associates with them, they associate with him and there is a reason. They see a candidate who helps their lunitic causes. You are judged by the company you keep.

Democrats get judged by the leftist groups who flock to sit in the Democrat shade. Paul will be judged by the large proportion of offensive people and groups that follow him.

EEE: I think Mr. Silverback was pointing out that the paleosurrenderman, Dr. Demento, had exercised his freedom of association by choosing not to reject support and money (false god of the libertoonians) from racists, bigots and anti-Semites. No one tried to take away his right to associate, must to point out that he is exercising it along with David Duke, Stormfront and some of his other supporters.

This being a new thread, its participants need to know that your previous candidate was Julie Annie, lest they take your opinions seriously.
